ACCIDENTALLY ON PURPOSE is book three in The
Heartbreaker Bay
series and I think the best one. This is a story about two
headstrong individuals who want to be in control. What
makes this series so great is the way that Jill Shalvis gives
each character a unique personality. Even though they are
not what a traditional family is, there is no question that
they consider themselves a family. There is a protectiveness
for one another -- even if on occasion they may get on each
others nerves.
I really enjoyed reading this story about Elle Wheaton who has
a love of shoes and manipulating the men who work for Archer
Hunt at his security firm. Elle came from a tough background
that put her in serious danger. Archer came into her life
right at that moment and made a decision that changed his
law-enforcement
career. There is a chemistry between them that is explosive.
But Archer has decided to ignore those feelings. Which means
he will have to watch Elle go out with other guys. These two
will keep you entertained with their reactions when others try
getting close to them.
I really enjoy Jill Shalvis and her style of writing. She
always gives her characters the greatest personalities that
are so entertaining. Particularly with Elle and Archer I
love they way she showed their vulnerabilities and the way
they put up a great front in trying to show how in control
they were. Archer always tried to show himself to be a
"Feels-Free Zone." But dealing with Elle will break him
down. Elle has the take no mess personality. She has
feelings for Archer but since he seems to want to ignore them
she decides to try to move on by seeing other guys. But once
she makes that decision and Archer begins to sabotage those
dates then the simmering detonation explodes.
There’s no such thing as a little in love . . .
Elle Wheaten’s priorities: friends, career, and kick-ass
shoes. Then there’s the muscular wall of stubbornness that’s
security expert Archer Hunt—who comes before everything
else. No point in telling Mr. “Feels-Free Zone” that,
though. Elle will just see other men until she gets over
Archer . . . which should only take a lifetime . . .
There’s no such thing as a little in lust . . .
Archer’s wanted the best for Elle ever since he sacrificed
his law-enforcement career to save her. Their chemistry
could start the next San Francisco Earthquake and he wants
her 24/7, but Archer doesn’t want to be responsible for the
damage. The alternative? Watch her go out with guys who
aren’t him . . .
There is such a thing as . . .
As far as Archer’s concerned, nobody is good enough for
Elle. But when he sets out to prove it by sabotaging her
dates, she gets mad—and things get hot as hell. Now Archer
has a new mission: prove to Elle that her perfect man has
been here all along. . .
