Aly Kingston, sitting in the airport awaiting her flight
home to Oklahoma City, spots a familiar face. That
impossibly handsome face, tall dark, slim and so sexy, could
only be Marshall Wayne. Disbelieving, heart nearly failing
at the sight of him after 13 years, Aly would recognize him
anywhere. Marshall was the only man she has ever loved and
has never forgotten. She knew him and fell in love with him
when he was 10 years old and he could not stand her. A
skinny kid, Aly was unattractive, and followed him
everywhere. She had a crush on him that was not
reciprocated. Now she was a gorgeous beauty. Memories
return, bringing sadness, remembering when his family was
forced to leave, Cedar Hill, his family farm, when her
selfish, rich, father, owner of the Kingston Bank
foreclosed. No mercy given, he has a secret plan to build
homes on the foreclosed property for people who discovered
oil and needed homes. Marshall promises to return and get
even with Lorne Kingston. He worked with that goal
foremost in his thoughts. The time is now and Marshall is
ready to settle his vendetta.
Marshall is brilliant and graduated Wharton School of
Business. He makes a fortune in banking and selling
commodities in New York City. His parents have died and are
buried in Claiborne. It is time to return and seek his
revenge. He is flying home to Claiborne and has a white,
Lincoln car waiting for him just like the one he remembered
the Senior Kingston drove.
Marshall does not recognize Aly but is impressed with how
lovely she is. Both in First Class on the plane home, he is
mesmerized by the elegant, fashionable lady and wonders
where she is heading? Aly is secretly keeping her eyes on
him and wondering if he is coming back home? Will this be
the time for them to be together?
The oil boom has wiped out many of her neighbors in
Claiborne, But it did not affect the career direction Aly
has chosen. She owns and operates a successful breeding
farm of quality horses and purse winning racing stock. She
is returning home with two new additions to her stable. She
is now owner of what used to be Cedar Hill and has some
surprises in store for Marshall. Will they please him and
let her into his life?
A sweet story about first love, betrayals, family and second
chances. Leila Meecham is one of my favorite authors and
everyone of her beautiful books, ROSES, TITANS, SOMERSET,
TUMBLEWEEDS, and RYAN'S HOPE, sit proudly on my special
shelf for cherished books to be re-read. ALY'S HOUSE now
joins this group. I loved the love story of Marshall and
Aly as it unfolded and they are truly made for each other.
Aly is a delight and makes herself easy to love and she
makes him feel like he is home. The secondary characters
add a lot of color to this classic love story that you will
not be able to put down until the forever together ending.
A five star rating and I can't wait for the next one, Ms.
Meacham. I am truly a loyal fan!
A tender, classic love story about the power of first
love and the promise of a second chance . . .
Aly Kingston has only ever loved one man: Marshall Wayne.
But she put all of those childish dreams behind her ages ago
when the Waynes left town. Her father's victory at
foreclosing on the Wayne family farm, the betrayal written
all over Marshall's face-it all still lingers in her mind
and in her heart. But now, years later, when he comes back
home to Claiborne, Aly realizes so much has changed since
Marshall's been away . . . and so much remains the same.
Seeing Aly again surprises Marshall Wayne. Gone is the
gangly girl who followed him around. In her place is a
beautiful woman with warmth and sensitivity, someone who
makes him want to believe in love again. But Marshall is
back home for one reason and one reason alone: to get
revenge on the man who destroyed his family and to reclaim
what rightfully belongs to him.
As the past and the present collide, will Aly lose her heart
to the man who's plotting to destroy her family? Or can she
show Marshall that love runs deeper than vengeance?
