And I can't think of anyone more equipped to handle this tough issue than Jennifer Ryan who melds crime, romance and cowboys with a resounding aplomb.

Luna is probably the nicest character you'll ever meet. Her nature and friendliness put her in the enviable position of acquiring ownership of a successful family owned ranch and a myriad of lucrative holdings. When Luna's friend Wayne suddenly passes away she discovers that he named her beneficiary. And that's when Luna found herself the recipient of nasty innuendo, threats and vandalism.

The culprits weren't directing their vengeance just toward Luna but targeted Colt the friend who held her heart. Wayne was well aware that his two sons and sister would systematically bleed his accounts dry and abandon the ranch he spent years developing. My guess is he was desperate and Luna was the only person he trusted to safeguard his legacy. No one could have suspected how much danger he put Luna in.

Colt finds himself in a rather awkward position. To Wayne's family Colt is just another interloper -- out to secure a place in Luna's heart and wealth. To Colt Wayne's sons Simon and Josh represent a real threat to Luna. And then there is the odd woman in this escapade -- Aunt Bea Wayne's disgruntled sister.

Colt is determined to provide a safety net between these loose and dangerous cannons and Luna. There's no denying the chemistry between them but now their status couldn't be more different. Luna is now a very wealthy woman. Colt is a hardworking rancher working with his two brothers building up their ranch.

So many challenges and dangers facing this couple. Seems almost impossible to bridge the gap and move toward any sort of future.

HER RENEGADE RANCHER is the fifth in this Montana Men series by Jennifer Ryan. Each book is jammed pack with suspense, action and drama. All played out against a gorgeous backdrop provided by huge vast ranches populated by some gorgeous cowboys. I can't think of a better way to spend a summer day than immersing myself in one of Jennifer Ryan's books and the Montana Men series is one to keep your eye on. It gets better with each installment.
