Leave it to Marie Ferrarella to combine a rather grisly serial murder with a Harry met Sally relationship totally infused with some really great dialog.
Malloy Cavanaugh is the latest bachelor to star in his own story. His lovely co-star is Dr. Kristin Alberghetti the medical examiner at his precinct. The Cavanaugh's all seem to follow the same career path -- police officers. So it was only natural that with the recent discovery of several bodies Malloy as lead detective was going to work closely with Kristin.
However as the case proceeds it seems that Kristin is negotiating with Malloy at every turn for a more hands on part of this investigation. Malloy for the most part welcomed having a second set of eyes and ears quickly recognizing how smart Kristin is and how valuable her insight would be to this investigation.
For Kristin it was sort of crossed swords. She absolutely vied for participation in the fact gathering both in her morgue and on the road. But that put her in close proximity with Malloy challenging her determination to keep their relationship strictly business.
As a team Malloy and Kristin were very astute and both loved puzzles putting together pieces of information and gathering ID's of the bodies was something they both excelled in. As a couple -- well -- Malloy was obviously attracted to Kristin -- but as for Kristin -- she used sass and humor to keep this gorgeous guy from making her yet another one of his well know flings.
So the Cavanaugh family tales keep going on thanks to the lively imagination and talent of Marie Ferrarella. All of these stories are fast paced, colorful, classy and stand on their own merit. Fans of shows like Bones and NCIS will absolutely enjoy this newest Cavanaugh episode. CAVANAUGH'S COLD CASE is a wonderful addition to an already favorite series of mine.
