Lily lost her mother at a young age, but every year on her birthday, she receives a letter from her. Lily was raised by her mother's best friend Coral and her husband Nick. Along with Dan and Patsy her two best friends.

Now it is Lily's 25th birthday and the last letter along has arrived. Lily wants to take her time reading this one, but she is shocked at something in this letter. Along with the final letter, Lily discovers a gift for her mother's long-lost true love. Lily decides that she wants to find this man, hoping to fill in some of the missing pieces.

Eddie is an actor. He is hiding out at Patsy's apartment as he just needs some alone time. Lily discovered him by mistake. Eddie is very taken with Lily. They started out as friends, but things have gone a little bit further. Dan is not happy about this union as he has always loved Lily, but could never tell her.

Will Dan just stand around or tell Lily his true feelings. Can they become you, me and always?

Jill Mansell books really get to me. I love the humor in this story. Mansell shows that no matter how much you care about someone, sometimes you have to stand back and just let things happen. I also really liked the way Mansell described the scenery of this little town. This is the kind of book that you can just sit back and let it take you away.

I have to admit, I read this book way too fast. Once I was done, I wished that I had taken longer to read it. You know how it goes, you get into it and before you know it, it's done. I loved this book. Buy it, get a glass of wine and just enjoy.

SUMMARY

International bestseller Jill Mansell crafts a deliciously romantic story about love, loss and secrets that just can't be kept

Nothing stays secret forever, least of all love...

On the morning of her twenty-fifth birthday, Lily Harper opens the very last letter written to her by her beloved mother, who died when she was eight. Learning about the first and only real love of her mom's life is a revelation.

The same momentous day, Lily meets Eddie Tessler, an actor fleeing fame who could change her world in unimaginable ways. But her childhood friend Dan has his own reasons for not wanting Lily to get too carried away by Eddie's attentions.

As secrets past and present begin to emerge, Lily's not sure what-or who-to believe. But one thing is clear: in the beautiful Cotswold village of Stanton Langley, nothing will ever be the same again...
