In this installment of author Christine Feehan's Sisters of the Heart series we find Lissa Piner about to face challenges she didn't expect as she travels to Europe. A skilled glass blower she is visiting areas where buyers are seeking her specially designed chandeliers, but the truth is this woman who is FIRE BOUND plans to end the danger to her sisters and their rather domineering husbands/boyfriends.
Unknown to Lissa the Prakenskii brothers have called in their brother Casimir to keep an eye on her as she travels. Trained by a sadistic school in Russia as an assassin, he hides in plain sight and finds himself completely intrigued by this woman. As he learns more about her and the life she has been forced to lead, he realizes they are in truth kindred spirits for they are both FIRE BOUND with a plan that will protect those they love. What would be better than to team up and take out all the threats ... together?
FIRE BOUND is filled with unexpected twists that will have readers on a thrilling roller coaster ride that they won't want to stop. I loved Casimir and his many different disguises and Lissa, the small, delicate woman was the perfect match for him. She was strong enough to stand up to him and when things began to collapse around her she was also strong enough to lean on him. There are a lot of secrets that come to light, things that Lissa must face and work her way through. We found out a bit of her past life in EARTH BOUND but as the reader turns the pages a lot more comes out changing everything for her. There is of course a lot of steamy moments between the two, and a bit of kink, but in this book I didn't find him horribly overbearing as a number of Ms. Feehan's heroes have been of late. Don't misunderstand, he is bossy and demanding but Casimir seemed to be able to listen when Lissa talked, and backed her up in action.
I can't really get into too many details about FIRE BOUND for to do so just might give spoilers. I can say that a couple of threats no longer have to be worried about, Viktor (the last remaining brother) Prakenskii is alive and well (poor Blythe), and it looks like a problem from the past that might involve the Drake Sisters is heading to Sea Haven. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next release and I believe that will be the last of this series. Even though this series started slowly for me, I soon fell in love with these sisters and their men and will hate to see it end, but they are all on my TRA shelf with room for more by Ms. Feehan.
The #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Sea Haven novels returns to the circle of the six sisters of the heart, bound by the elements—and to one who possesses the power to inflame the most dangerous passions of all. Flame-haired Lissa Piner is a skilled glass blower whose delicate gift conceals a burning inner strength that can destroy as exquisitely as it can create. Commissioned to design chandeliers for a string of luxury hotels, her remarkable skills have taken her to Italy. But Lissa’s real mission there is a secret. For her entire life has been a lie, leading to a chance to avenge a terrible wrong. Enlisted as her bodyguard is Casmir Prakenskii, a trained assassin living off the grid. In Lissa, he sees a kindred spirit—something unexpected and wicked, mysterious and sensual. But more than desire is about to bring them together: because both of their pasts cry out for revenge. And for two people with this many secrets, this much passion, and this many enemies, someone is bound to get burned.
