THREE WEEKS TO WED is the first book in the Worthingtons series by Ella Quinn. Lady Grace Carpenter has been infatuated with Matteus the Earl of Worthington for years, so when bad weather brings them together in a small inn, she seizes the opportunity to spend one night with him. In order to not to lose her guardianship of her siblings, Lady Grace believes she has to live out the rest of her life as a spinster. Matt is intrigued by the sensual, intelligent mysterious woman who is offering herself to him. He falls in love with her and decides to propose the first thing in the morning but Lady Grace disappears before he learns her name.
I must say Ella Quinn's writing is delightful and witty, the story and the characters were interesting but I would have preferred more restraint between hero and heroine. At the beginning Lady Grace seemed to be a strong heroine--fighting to gain the guardianship of her sibling but during the story she was weeping all the time, fainting and couldn't stop herself from sleeping with hero.
Matt was a really nice gentleman but as a reader I prefer the hero not to think he is in love at the first sight. Everything seems to happen so easily and quickly without really any tension. Of course there were a few roadblocks but nothing serious to make the story more thrilling and to keep Grace and Matt away from each other. The siblings made the story more sweet and enjoyable, especially when they tried to make everything to be smooth and easy for Grace and Matt.
THREE WEEKS TO WED is a sweet romance with nice dialogue and just needs a little more tension and more scandal to make it a perfect historical romance read.
