"A SCANDALOUS PROPOSAL is a witty romance with a clever mystery"

A Scandalous Proposal

Romance Historical

Daniella Foster needs a hero. Her sister is being blackmailed, and her family's reputation is on the line. When she meets war hero Cooper Townsend she believes she has found the perfect hero to help her family. As it turns out, the same villain is blackmailing Cooper. Daniella and Cooper must hunt the villain down before their lives are ruined, and decide what to do with the feelings that begin to emerge between them.

Kasey Michaels's A SCANDALOUS PROPOSAL is a fun romance. The hero, Cooper, and the heroine, Dany, share witty banter throughout the story, and readers will be laughing from the beginning to the end of this book. This banter builds up the tension between Cooper and Dany, and makes for steamy romantic scenes. Dany and Cooper are each other's opposites, and they make a great pair. Cooper is serious and stoic, but loyal and understanding, and Dany is talkative and lively, but is also selflessly helping her sister. Their unique pasts make them stand out from other romance heroes and heroines, and I enjoy the fact that they are not the typical "lady" and titled gentleman of the ton. Michaels has written a mystery that is both intriguing and clever to bring her characters together. The antagonist is an interesting villain that is unexpected, and readers may be a bit surprised when the villain's identity is revealed. The element of blackmail is well done, and all the little pieces that come together to link to the villain are quite ingenious.

The secondary characters in A SCANDALOUS PROPOSAL are brilliantly written. Each one from Cooper's mother, Minerva, to Dany's sister Marietta, to Cooper's friend Darby, are filled with personality and bring humor and extra layers to the story. Overall, A SCANDALOUS PROPOSAL is a fun read with likable characters hooked me from the start to an exciting mystery that kept me reading until the last page.

SUMMARY

The drama of London's Little Season continues in this vibrant new series by USA TODAY bestselling author Kasey Michaels featuring three courageous war heroes surrendering at last to love…

Who would have thought a man could tire of being fawned over and flirted with? Ever since Cooper Townsend returned from France as a hero with a new title, he has been relentlessly pursued by every marriageable miss in London. Perhaps that's why the unconventional Miss Daniella Foster is so appealing. She doesn't simper or flatter. She only wants him to help unmask her sister's blackmailer, and Coop has never been so intrigued…

Let every other woman in London fight over His Lordship's romantic attentions. Marriage is the last thing on Dany's mind…at least until she samples his illicit kisses. Now, as a mutual enemy races to ruin Coop's reputation and Dany's family name, an engagement of convenience will spark an unlikely passion that might save them both.
