Addison "Addie" Price is a waitress in a small town diner. She accepts her life as it is, though she plans to go to school to improve her lot. However, things change when a man who reminds her of a WHITE TIGER and his three boys walk into her life adding a much needed spark to her humdrum world.
Kendrick, is a Guardian and a white tiger shifter who is living in secret and on the run. He is the alpha of a group of un-collared shifters who must live in secret. If found they will be collared and forced to live in Shiftertowns. The last thing he expects is a lovely human who stirs his hardened heart. He never expects anything to come of his meetings over pie until some of his unhappy shifters attack the diner and force his hand. To keep Addie safe he has no choice but to take her on the run with him until he can find a safe haven for his people and perhaps find a way to get Addie to stay with him.
WHITE TIGER by Jennifer Ashley is a phenomenal read. As part of Ms. Ashley's Shifters Unbound series this one centers on the lives and trials of those un-collared shifters who haven't been rounded up and basically imprisoned. Kendrick is a good man, shifter and Guardian (he and his sword send the dying shifters to their heaven), who just might not be the greatest leader but with a little help he is willing to learn to be what his shifters need. Addie was a big surprise as a human thrown into the shifter world she learned quickly about this new world, her place in it and how to kick butt with the best of them. The secondary characters add variety to the story line and of course his boys were adorable even stoic Robbie who as the adopted son wasn't sure of his place at times. The romance was written in Ms. Ashley's usual steamy style, that should please all romance readers. Of course, it was the camaraderie that I am a sucker for that is there between the little family and the members of the pack, that got to me and left me wanting more. I love the jokes at each others expense, the sniping, the moments of encouragement and everybody having each others backs. There is a lot that happens in this book that will give insight to this world and the lives and feelings of the collared and un-collared shifters. I cannot wait to see what Ms. Ashley has up her sleeves for the next one. (There is a sneak preview at the end of WHITE TIGER and it sounds like another winner!)
