Miranda, aka Randi, Tyler is grieving the loss of her beloved
stepmother. Adopted by Joan and her husband, Dennis, who
also passed away, she is now living alone in the home they
left to her. This incredible older couple adopted her from
Foster Care when she was 14 years old and brought her from
California to live with them in Maine. Living in the coastal
town of Amesport, they were loving parents to Randi, who
feels their loss completely.
She loves her teaching job and
volunteers at the Center to tutor students who need extra or
special care. Her best friend, Emily, is Director at the
Center, is presently en route to meet Grady Sinclair, of
the Billionaire Sinclair family who live on the Island.
The Center needs funds for the needy children of Amesport for gifts and a
big
dinner
at a Christmas party. While at the Center, Randi decides
to try and help too. Randi sends an anonymous plea for
help to the Sinclair Foundation she finds on-line. Randi
signs the request "A Concerned Resident of Amesport."
Two months later Evan Sinclair, while scrolling through old
emails, sees one with the message on the subject line:
Help Save Our Town. When he sees the request is from an
anonymous source, he becomes testy and writes back that it
is presumptuous to think funds would ever be sent for such a
ludicrous endeavor, and to a town that is not even on the
map. He signs his message with a S and forgets about it.
When Randi receives his response, she is livid and sends
him a map with Amesport circled in red. So
begins the interaction between Randi and Evan. He is S and
she becomes M. They begin to correspond and become friends.
Neither want to meet or know who the other is. Both enjoy
their anonymous friendship.
Evan is the oldest Sinclair and has always protected his
siblings. He is handsome but uptight, always in
control, confident, arrogant and a suit. Never dressed
without his shirt, tie, suit and handmade shoes, he does not
know how to relax. Work
is his whole world. He does not do relationships, only
seeks women who desire a one night fling.
That changes when he spends time during a blizzard with
Randi. They sizzle and ultimately confide their darkest
secrets to each other.
J.S. Scott tells a delicious story once again in
The Sinclairs series. I enjoyed the characters, especially Evan,
who touched my heart with his sweetness and thoughtfulness.
The subject of Dyslexia is addressed and adds additional
interest to this warm and moving romantic tale. The
locale is filled with savvy characters who are funny especially
Beatrice. She gives predictions along with an Apache tear
stone, which forecasts romantic futures accurately as shown by
Randi and Evan. Their relationship is filled with
sexual tension, but they build a foundation slowly and
surely toward becoming soul mates. I recommend THE BILLIONAIRE'S TOUCH to
everyone who likes
to sit back, lose themselves in a sweet love story, and
dream. THE BILLIONAIRE'S TOUCH is a sure bet to do that
and more. I love it, Ms. Scott.
After a troubling childhood, wealthy Evan Sinclair likes his
life orderly and controlled. He rarely gives in to spontaneous
urges—until he begins a chance correspondence with a mystery
woman who sounds like his complete opposite. She intrigues and
amuses him, and the interest seems mutual…which is more than
he can say for his current obsession, Miranda Tyler, the
tough-as-nails, sexy schoolteacher who’s made it clear she’s
not impressed—or interested.
Miranda finally has it all: a good job, friends, and the
security of living in the quaint coastal town of Amesport,
Maine. She even has an anonymous pen pal—a man she’s never met
yet has bonded with almost effortlessly. The only thing
unsettling her life is Evan Sinclair. The handsome billionaire
is arrogant, pompous, and far too used to getting his way.
Miranda tries her best to avoid him, until Evan’s steamy kiss
turns her world upside down.
Soon their red-hot desire is scorching the sheets and has them
both spinning out of control. But when secrets are revealed,
will their insatiable attraction keep them together or force
them apart? In J.S. Scott’s The Billionaire’s Touch, the
eldest Sinclair just might have met his match.
