My favourite character in the Hotel Rodeo series was Delaney McCall, and I was very much looking forward to her story. Still I was a tad apprehensive, but Victoria Vane delivered what I expected! Former beauty queen Delaney McCall and now retired bull rider Zac McDaniel have one thing in common: Ty Morgan. Ty is Delaney's former husband, and he was Zac's best friend until Zac was wrongly cited as a cause for divorce in his friend's disastrous marriage. Eight years ago, Zac stepped aside and watched Ty sweep Delaney off her feet. Zac was too insecure to woo the beauty, and he has been carrying a torch for her since then. Delaney wants a baby, but no husband; one was more than enough. Ty being a fine male specimen, she asked him to father a baby, which Ty vehemently refused. However, Ty had told Zac, and Zac figures this might be a way to get close to Delaney.
BEAUTY AND THE BULL RIDER is just great! I love Delaney's spunk, her stubbornness, her determination to make it in a man's world, and all on her own. Zac is a man after my own heart, and he is everything Ty isn't: he's a gentleman, patient, and he will do what it takes to convince Delaney to give him a chance. Delaney and Zac share tremendously entertaining banter. The romance progressed exactly how it should with just enough push and pull either way. There are exceptionally funny segments on conception in many forms, and Ms. Vane provides fascinating insight into stock contracting. There is also a heart-stopping incident involving a bull that was depicted so vividly, it seemed to have happened in real life. BEAUTY AND THE BULL RIDER is a sweet, funny, and sexy romp in full Technicolor!
