Lisa Gardner has created a multi-dimensional detective by the name of D.D. Warren. If you've read any of Gardner's fabulous crime stories than you have probably already met D.D., and in my humble opinion Lisa Gardner has outdone herself in THREE TRUTHS AND A LIE. THREE TRUTHS AND A LIE is a novella like none other. Truthfully since I was reading a proof I hadn't realized it was a short story. I'll read anything by Gardner so when I saw this one up for grabs—well I went for it. Boy did I.
By the end of the story I was so invested in the tale I was turning pages as fast as I possible could without missing anything because each and every word in this novella is intrinsic to the storyline and plot. It is important that no clue is overlooked.
D.D. is giving a speech to a group of aspiring crime novelists. Her task is to tell them what her job as a Boston detective entailed. Boy did they get their monies worth.
That's it. That's all you are getting. You really need to read this for yourself. As I said before, THREE TRUTHS AND A LIE by Lisa Gardner cements my admiration for this extraordinarily talented crime novelist. I did a review of her latest full length novel FIND HER. Trust me these are two stories that should not be overlooked. Fabulous. Riveting. Incredible. Lisa Gardner is a gem.
