Novella / Short Story | Romance Contemporary | Holiday

Ah, it's the holiday season once again and with so many entries it is sometimes difficult to know which ones to pick. Well rest assured, you can't go wrong with anything by Donna Alward. CHRISTMAS AT EVERGREEN INN is a perfect example of Donna Alward's writing style. Her characterizations are always real, heartwarming and engaging. CHRISTMAS AT EVERGREEN INN is part of her Jewell Cove series and once again we find ourselves surrounded by friends new and old. It's the season to be jolly, but not everyone has the holiday spirit. Never worry. Donna Alward will make sure even the most humbug of her characters find their way past their problems and open their hearts and minds to having a wonderful holiday.

There's no shortage of problems when a nor'easter roars into town and there are no more rooms at the inn. Kind of reminiscent of a biblical journey in December where the travelers will bunk down anywhere warm and dry. But the Evergreen Inn is a wonderful place. Lainey Price has outdone herself in creating a warm, welcoming inn. At this time of the year there are usually plenty of rooms to go around. But the small hotel in town is all booked up. Lainey has already started to setup creative places for her clients to stay. It would seem as if every nook and cranny is occupied.

But now policeman Todd Ricker finds himself with a stranded traveler at the Evergreen Inn hoping that there is some space for the two of them. The Inn is packed solid so Lainey reaches into her hostess bag of tricks and comes up with a solution. Perhaps not the most comfortable one for Lainey, but it would just have to work. Officer Todd is going to have to bunk down on the couch in Lainey little house behind the inn. Very cozy.

The problem with having a guest at your home is that they can learn a lot about their hostess. And what Todd discovers is that while the inn is bedecked with all things holiday, Lainie's home is not. Well what's a guy going to do with that kind of challenge? Todd is definitely up for it. Lainie better watch out. Christmas is in the air and there is no escaping it in Jewell Cove.

CHRISTMAS AT EVERGREEN INN is a perfectly wonderful holiday novella designed to reach into your heart on a cold wintry night.

SUMMARY

Welcome back to Jewell Cove with this heartwarming novella, where this holiday season, there happens to be no room at the inn...

When a December Nor'easter roars up the eastern seaboard, Jewell Cove cop Todd Ricker spends his day off being a Good Samaritan to stranded holiday travelers. But when the roads close and Todd can't make his way home, he discovers that the Evergreen Inn is full up. Until another Good Samaritan opens her doors and offers him a place to stay...

Lainey Price is not looking forward to Christmas, but just because she's not filled with the holiday spirit doesn't mean she's going to turn Todd out into the stormy night. Even if it means offering the handsome police officer the couch in her tiny cottage. But when the weather takes a turn for the worse, the two are snowed in for a wintry evening by the fire. With Christmas only a few days away, can Todd convince Lainey to open her heart to the season...and love?
