Vanity Baker loves a good, clean match, but she's not above
playing a little dirty, especially when it comes to
Stack "The Wolf" Hannigan. She's willing to do a round of
TOUGH LOVE to get the attention of the man who caught her
eye the first day she saw him. Stack seems a little
commitment phobic so her plan is to insist they get
together, but keeping it casual.
Stack has gotten his wish -- the sexy, gorgeous Vanity on any
terms, including her idea of being friends with benefits.
However, the best laid plans do not always work out,
especially when it seems everything and everyone is
plotting against them.
When Stack's family problems rear their ugly heads,
threatening everything he cares for, including
Vanity. He quickly realizes she will always mean more
to him than casual sex and friendship; she's stolen a
chunk of his heart. Can he afford to let her have the rest
of it, or will he be betrayed as once before?
When you pick up TOUGH LOVE be prepared for a story
you will not be able to put down. This edgy, gripping
storyline will have you turning the pages quickly because
so much is happening and you don't want to miss a word. I loved
Vanity's plan. It was simple: offer the man what they both
want under the guise of friends with benefits, that way he
won't feel trapped. And the way author Lori Foster gave us
pieces of Vanity's past was just the perfect way to get to know
what type of person she really is. I got a big kick out of
her reaction to snow and how shoveling was fun. As a
transplant from warmer climates, I probably felt that way at
first. Not anymore, but it was really cute. Stack has a
wacky family. The youngest child of his widowed mother, he
often appears older as she tended to give into her oldest
child more. Tabby, the sister, was the one who needed the
TOUGH LOVE.
While they are working on their relationship, we get peeks
into past characters, including Armie and Merissa as they
struggle with their attraction for each other. I really
love reading these books because they are about a group of
people, different in many ways but with common goals and
friendship, that will lead them to do anything for each
other. My favorite kind of books include "family" that is
not necessarily by blood, and Ms. Foster gives us every kind
of personality possible but make us feel that they all
belong together. This of course goes into my TRA shelf and
I can't wait to get my hands on the next "Ultimate" novel
by Lori Foster.

Vanity Baker loves a good, clean match, but she's not above
playing a little dirty. She's wanted Stack "The Wolf"
Hannigan from day one. Seems as though the best way to
corral the famously commitment-phobic fighter is to insist
on keeping it casual. And her plan works—deliciously
well—until Stack's past steps out of the shadows.
Stack learned early to stay free of attachments. But with
sexy, forthright Vanity, he's the one always left wanting
more. Then his trouble making family comes back into the
picture, threatening everything Stack cares about—Vanity
included. Suddenly he realizes they're much more than
friends with benefits.
