Khaki Blake was now sure something very peculiar had happened to her three months ago. Khaki was with Washington's State Lakefront police department, when she got a 911 call for a gang problem. Someone fired at her, she was hit, then everything went still. After that, she noticed she healed much quicker, and her sense of smell had improved dramatically... Then she was asked to join the Dallas SWAT team. Team leader Xander Riggs is not too thrilled about the idea of having a woman on the team made up of male wolfshifters, but they have no choice otherwise they might face a discrimination charge. So it might as well be a female shifter but Xander didn't even know they existed! Xander has never put much credence in the theory of "The One", one's true life mate and that one immediately knows upon meeting them, but Xander is overwhelmed by Khaki's smell, and he knows he might be in big trouble!
WOLF TROUBLE, the second instalment in Paige Tyler's SWAT series, is anything but predictable, apart from having lots of action. The fact that Khaki is the sole woman on the Dallas SWAT team is not really an issue: nobody gives her a hard time even though Xander finds it difficult to remain professional while trying to resist Khaki's olfactory charms. It works both ways of course, and it leaves Khaki somewhat bewildered. Even though she has come to enjoy some of the perks of her newly acquired gifts, Khaki needs guidance and Xander will oblige. Khaki is a superb character: brave, tough, and very normal in spite of her recent mishap. Xander is a fabulous alpha: not a domineering, mulish man, but he's a true leader; he's compassionate and understanding, and the brilliant Ms. Tyler handles their road to romance in a masterful way.
Although WOLF TROUBLE is more of a straightforward action story with paranormal elements, watching Khaki embrace her inner wolf as well as her outer wolf are some of the most exciting, and fascinating passages in the book. Not to mention the wild, sizzling, werewolf sex! Paige Tyler is on a roll!
