Gavriil Prakenskii has a very simple plan in mind. He will
visit his brothers to make sure they are safe, especially
the baby Ilya, then sacrifice himself to take away the
threat to his family. He had no way of knowing a young
EARTH BOUND woman would change his mind so easily.
After escaping from a cult, Lexi found refuge with six
sisters of the heart at a farm that sustains her body and
nurtures her very soul. She never forgot the terror or the
fear that was always present that the cult leader would
find her again. Then her nightmare came true. Only the
threat was taken care of by a stranger ... someone who was
steeped in shadows and secrets ... a man she should fear.
But
far from fear, Lexi feels that this is the man she can
trust, protect him from himself and possibly come to love.
EARTH BOUND is book three of author Christine Feehan's
Sea
Haven series and of the three I believe this one is so
far
the best. I will be honest ...this has not been my
favorite
series by Ms. Feehan, I did not care for book one (Water
Bound) but the second (Spirit Bound) was better so I had
to
give this one a try and I am glad I did. The action starts
out immediately and continues in some form or other
throughout the book. Lexi was the one "sister" I felt for
from the other books and as the story moves forward you
find out why she has panic attacks. I certainly didn't
expect to love big brother Gavriil but I did, he was after
all prepared to end the danger to his brothers knowing it
would be the end of him. He couldn't help it if the heart
he thought was dead came kicking back to life. He is
perfect for her and she for him. He is patient and
understanding and she finds the woman in her wasn't
destroyed after all.
This series does have a grittier, darker plot line but I
enjoy seeing strong women get stronger and stand by the
side of the men who love them and love the men who
desperately need that love. On a personal note, I do wish
there was more interaction with the Drake Sisters.
After
all Ilya is married to Joley, and Jonas is still the
sheriff of the little town they all share and married to
Hannah. I am one of those readers who loves seeing into
the
lives of past characters. Oh well ... maybe I will just
have
to do some re-reading, while I wait for another Sea
Haven
book from Ms. Feehan.
