When Hallie Hartley by accident learns of her sister's betrayal and her inheritance, a beautiful old house on Nantucket from an ancestor she never knew she had, she travels to Nantucket and takes a private physical therapy client for summer.
Hallie expects to treat a spoiled young man and is surprised by the handsome, kind Jamie. Soon she learns that Jamie is hiding something and there are two matchmaking ghosts in the house.
Jamie is a soldier, wounded in the war, and embarrassed by his vulnerability. He is incredibly handsome but his body has so many scars and he suffers from nightmares. He is also kind, humble and an adorable hero. As soon as he sees Hallie, he is attracted to her and tries to hide his scars from her.
The story gets more interesting when Jamie's family come to Nantucket for the wedding with so many handsome men and Jamie is jealous. EVER AFTER is a page turning contemporary romance, even though I had not read the first two books in this series, I really enjoyed Hallie and Jamie's story. In the middle of the book it was a little overwhelming for me with so many characters but I still loved it. The only thing I wanted to be different was the ending for her spoiled step-sister.
EVER AFTER is an easy to read romance with lots of characters, ghosts, secrets, and both great family and horrible families. This makes the characters more real.
