Cyn, the vampire clan chief of Ireland, has no problem getting the attention of women, they flock to him, after all, the former Berzerker is gorgeous with an appetite for pleasure. However, when he is magically transported with a lovely pureblood fey princess he wonders WHEN DARKNESS ENDS for him and his life can get back to normal. The oracle has called the two of them to Cyn's primitive lair to ask for help. Someone is trying to close the veil that separates the dimensions. A dangerous plan that could mean an end to all magical beings, vamps and fey included.
Princess Fallon, a Chatri (a more secretive, revered Fey) finds herself transported in the company of the irritating Cyn but given the reason for the transport, she will find a way to work with him. Either they kill each other, succeed in the oracle's mission or fall in love.
WHEN DARKNESS ENDS is the fantastic finale of author Alexandra Ivy's Guardian's of Eternity series. I hate to see the end of this series, but if it must, I was glad this action packed book was the one to be the last. This world has been filled with danger, various paranormal beings sometimes at each other's throats, sweet moments and steamy sex. Who could have asked for anything more?
I have wanted to see Cyn get his story and I wondered if the Princess Fallon would be the one for him. It was nice to see that there was more to her than her prissy royal appearance; she is a fighter who is willing to be shunned by her family rather than leave Cyn. Cyn was also a bit of a surprise. After seeing touches of him in the other books, I wasn't sure he was more than a vamp on the make, but this book gives his real story and how he really treats the people who mean the most to him.
I also rather enjoyed the side stories that gave us peaks into the other guardian's lives, wives and families, and for the added story of Tonya, Viper's club manager and the snotty Prince Magnus, also a Chatri prince who happen to be Fallon's arranged fiancΓ©. Tonya does her best to straighten his attitude out and it was great to watch. And of course, there is the appearance of the beloved Levet, who ends the book with a laugh. I have to say a big thank you to Ms. Ivy for this amazing book WHEN DARKNESS ENDS and equally remarkable series. I have them all on my TRA (to read again) shelf.
