TWISTED is Book two in Cynthia Eden's LOST series. TWISTED is aptly named -- because of the twisted killer and also because of all the twists and turns the story takes. Even though this is part of a series, I think TWISTED can still be read and enjoyed by readers who may be new to the series. In TWISTED, there is a feeling that permeates the book that nowhere and nobody is "safe", and survival is everything.
Ex-FBI agent Dean Bannon and Emma Castille are two flawed people who are thrown together with sexy results. I liked Emma immediately. She has been through a lot and seen a lot of things in her life but, as battle-hardened by life as she is, she still tries to stick her neck out to protect those in danger. I like how Emma is able to empathize with the missing young girl and see the parallels with her own life. Emma is strong and smart, while also having a softer side. Her special skills are interesting -- especially for fans of shows like THE MENTALIST an PSYCH. The scenes between Emma and Dean are highly erotic and amazing.
This LOST series by Cynthia Eden seems to get better with each book. The race to find the missing girl is almost as captivating as the mystery surrounding the identity of the killer. Once again, Cynthia Eden creates an exciting page- turner that I can't stop reading once I started. More than halfway through TWISTED, and the identity of the psychopath only becomes more unclear. I enjoyed meeting the characters from Emma's past and that glimpse it provides into the person she is today. I think you learn even more about the members of LOST and understand them a little bit better individually, as well as the group dynamic. I can't wait until each member gets a story of their own.
Although I don't normally read romantic suspense, I can't help but be pulled into the exciting stories in this LOST series. TWISTED is the perfect blend of eroticism, suspense, and great story-telling. Each story will bewitch you from beginning to end and have you longing for the next one. I am so excited to see what happens in the next installment!
