Romance Contemporary

GRANT is Book two in Jennifer Ashley's Riding Hard about a family of stunt riders. GRANT is a great book for readers who like stories with main characters who have history together. Grant Campbell and Christina Farrell have a complicated past. They both have a lot of love for each other, but other things had gotten in the way of their happiness the first time around. I love these characters and the passion that is so much a part of their story. There are two main stories in GRANT -- the complex relationship between Grant and Christina, and the plot by outsiders to develop and take over the town. I am happy that the storyline involving the town doesn't take away from the romance. Jennifer Ashley always excels at a providing a sense of community and family in her books, and GRANT is no exception. I love how everybody comes together to figure out how to save the town. Without cluttering up or detracting from the focus of the story, GRANT is full of some fabulous supporting characters like newcomer and businesswoman Karen. There are so many characters that I want to get to know better like Grant's brothers and the Malorys. After seeing how much Grant and Christina obviously still care for each other it's difficult to understand, at first glance, why they haven't remained together all these years. However, as the story progresses, it becomes evident that a big part of their problem is a failure to communicate. That's one thing I love about GRANT -- it's a sexy romance with a realistic look at relationships. Jennifer Ashley does a wonderful job of creating a feeling of intimacy between Grant and Christina as well as bringing the heat. For me, GRANT works so well because Jennifer Ashley is a master of creating characters you care about. GRANT is a story heavy on emotion and sensuality. Grant and Christina have great chemistry as a couple and you can't help but be pulled in by their story. GRANT is full of guys who are everything you want in a cowboy -- an earthy sexuality, a charming smile, heart, and he knows how to ride a horse and looks good doing it. The supporting characters are fascinating and can't wait to see what Jennifer Ashley might have in store for them in future books. I eagerly await the next book in this Riding Hard series.

SUMMARY

Grant Campbell, famous trick rider from Riverbend, Texas, thought it was over with Christina, the love of his life. But a chance encounter one dark spring night gives Grant hope that he can have a second chance. Things are changing in Riverbend, though, that threaten to take Christina away from him forever. Christina Farrell has tried to move on after her breakup with Grant, the hot Texas cowboy who stole her peace of mind the day he walked into her bar and gave her his sinful smile. But every reminder of him tells her it's not over in her heart. Christina realizes she'll never forget him until she makes some changes in her life, but before she can, a reconnection with Grant alters everything for her in an unexpected way. Book 2 of Riding Hard. Contains a preview of Riding Hard: Carter, and two recipes.
