COURTING EMILY is book two in the Wells Landing series.

Emily has loved Luke her whole life. He is her childhood sweetheart and his feelings for her are the same. The only problem is Luke is leaving the Amish community of Wells Landing Oklahoma and he wants Emily to go with him into the Englisch world. Emily cannot do that as her Amish faith is her way of life and one she isn't willing to give up. She prays that Luke will find his way back to his faith and she decides to wait for him. The longer he stays away the less likely he is to return but Emily refuses to believe that.

Elam has always loved Emily but he also always knew she was in love with Luke. He loves her from a distance and at first, he doesn't care that Luke has left. He knows Emily still loves him. Until one day they begin a friendship that has Emily seeing Elam in a whole new light. Is she over Luke? Does she still love him? Can Elam love Emily knowing she still loves Luke? COURTING EMILY had me in the edge of my seat and reading late into the night! I had to know what was going to happen to the three of them and who Emily was going to chose!

I found myself thinking about Emily and Elam long after I finished their story. I was totally invested in their lives and was cheering for them the whole time I was reading. Often, I was yelling at Emily not to make the choices she was making and sometimes I was laughing out loud at the things she was saying. COURTING EMILY is filled with love, forgiveness, letting go, and romance. I loved the interaction between Emily and Elam's father James. Once I started reading, I couldn't stop. Amy Lillard's writing held me captive from the very first page until the last page. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

SUMMARY

Return to Wells Landing, the close-knit Amish community in Oklahoma, where a hopeful young woman struggles to find true love while staying true to her faith. . . Emily Ebersol is the bishop's daughter, and everyone--including Emily--assumes she'll marry a faithful Amish man and live out her days within the community. But her childhood sweetheart, Luke Lambright, fell in love with racing cars during his rumspringa and decided to leave Wells Landing. Emily prays for his return, but as the months go by, she begins spending time with another young man--a man who may not be as exciting as Luke, but perhaps he's exactly what she needs. . . Elam Rhiel knows that Emily has always been in love with Luke--but he is certain he could be the loyal, steady husband Emily deserves. Then, just as Emily begins to fall for him, Luke returns and complicates her feelings. Now, they all must learn that the greatest love requires the greatest sacrifice. . .
