Ramona (Romi) Grayson's life has not always been easy
despite her father being a wealthy businessman. The fact
that he is an alcoholic hasn't helped at all but that is
nothing compared Maxwell Black's affect on her. She is
about to become A VIRGIN FOR HIS PRIZE if he has his way.
A year ago Russian tycoon Max watched Romi walk away, but
now he is ready to take what is his. On his terms or on
hers it doesn't matter to him, but the ultimate prize will
be Romi, warm and willing in his bed for however long it
lasts. If blackmail has to be used so be it. If marriage
on
his terms must be offered ... fine. The only thing that
will
never be used is the tender feeling that he doesn't have.
Or will he find that he really can love after all?
A VIRGIN FOR HIS PRIZE is the second of author Lucy
Monroe's Ruthless Russian series and to me this one
is even
better than the first. If you read An Heiress for His
Empire you got a little taste of Romi and Max but this one
is completely their story. She had no choice but to walk
away from Max and his cold hearted offer before but when
he
comes back she has her own thoughts and puts them into
action. Max believing he is the winner soon learns that
his
Romi knows him better than he knows himself.
I enjoyed A VIRGIN FOR HIS PRIZE because it was fun to
watch this so called cold
hearted corporate tsar learn that all the things he said
he
wouldn't feel was a lie. He had really already lost his
heart to her, but was just a little slow on the uptake.
Romi is a strong young woman with a major weakness and
that
is Max, but even knowing that she stands up to him and
gets
to know him enough to learn that he really does have a
tender side, at least for her. This gave her the hope that
let her take the chance on marrying him and letting
herself
love him.
I have always found Ms. Monroe's books easy to read,
heartwarming and incredibly steamy and A VIRGIN FOR HIS
PRIZE is no
exception. The author may take her characters from a
wealthy world that we can't even envision ourselves in but
she has them showing very real, very human emotional
turmoil, that we can all understand. And in doing so
creates a world and people we as readers care about.
My
only complaint and it is a small thing... is the epilogue
seemed a little rushed and thrown together, but we did
learn that both couples indeed got their HEA and that is
always satisfying. Needless to say, this one goes into my
TRA shelf with room for more from Lucy Monroe.
SUMMARY

Maxwell Black's addictive brand of seduction and knows she
should stay away…especially having discovered just how
determined he is to possess her!
His proposal Max prides himself on always being in control, yet somehow
Romi sneaked under his cast-iron defenses, then walked
away.
Now he is driven to finish what they started….

This Russian tycoon will stop at nothing, even blackmail,
to
have Romi warm and willing in his bed. And her innocence
will make his long-awaited possession all the sweeter….
