HER LONE WOLF is the second book in Paige Tyler's X- Ops series and it's terrific! Even if you have not read the first one, enough background story is provided by the author to keep you riveted. HER LONE WOLF is a suspense with an extremely tight plot: exciting, fast-paced, and full of twists and turns. But best of all, the shifters are intrinsic to the story line. It's not a paranormal romance with some light suspense thrown in for good measure, nor is it a suspense where some characters are shifters but it wouldn't really matter if they weren't. And what shifters they are! HER LONE WOLF features a great cast of characters, some of the best I've ever read in paranormal fiction: perfectly plausible, wildly fascinating; they assume their animal side with panache and use their assets and flaws creatively. And Danica's a pretty terrific norm; she's a superb female heroine!

I love how Ms. Tyler progressively told how Clayne and Danica met and fell in love; the reason for their separation is the basis for a thrilling secondary plot element in HER LONE WOLF. In fact, a less self-assured author would have had enough material for at least two books in there! And towards the end, just when you think it couldn't get any better, it does! The next instalment in the X-Ops series will not come out soon enough! Brilliant!
