Victoria Royal is believed by the U.S. government to be a traitor. The once promising sniper in the Army has gone rogue ... even worse she has just landed smack in the middle of a Hostile Operations Team (H.O.T.) mission in the desert and blasted it to hell. She didn't expect to find herself in the arms of a HOT REBEL.
Nick "Brandy" Brandon didn't expect to find Victoria when he's budding out from the mission gone very wrong. It has been three years since she disappeared from the sniper course they were in together. In fact he had just finally stopped thinking about her. Now she's back and far more dangerous than he believed possible. He can't believe she is a traitor, there must be something more at stake. He and his team must move fast because time is running out with too many lives in the balance.
HOT REBEL is loaded with action, drama and intrigue. This is the first of Lynn Raye Harris' HOT (Hostile Operations Team) that I have had the opportunity to read, but you can bet it won't be the last. The way it is written will have the readers feeling as if they are right there in the sweltering heat or engulfed in the panic of running for your life with the other members of HOT covering your back.
Nick and Victoria are the perfect match for each other if they can get along long enough to survive. Their relationship is complex and as you read you will understand it better and see that underneath it all it is strong. I must admit, I am a sucker for team camaraderie and watching this team interact completed the storyline for me. I can't wait to see what else Ms. Harris' comes up with for HOT.
A rebel on the runβ¦
Victoria Royal is a traitor. Or so the U.S. government
believes. Victoria was once a promising sniper in the
Army,
but now sheβs gone rogueβworse, sheβs just landed in the
middle of a Hostile Operations Team mission in the desert
and blasted it all to hell.
Nick βBrandyβ Brandon doesnβt expect to run into Victoria
when heβs bugging out from a mission gone wrong. Itβs been
more than three years since she disappeared from the
sniper
course they were in together, and heβs finally stopped
thinking about her killer curves and smart mouth.
But now sheβs backβand sheβs far more dangerous than Nick
ever believed possible⦠Is she really a traitor? Or is
there
something more at stake? He has to decide fastβbecause
timeβs running out and too many lives hang in the balanceβ¦
Victoria kept her pistol aimed at one man, the one directly
in front of her. They might kill her, but she was taking
one of them with her. The air crackled with danger and
electricity.
And then the man lowered the rifle just enough that she
could see his face. It wasnβt a face sheβd expected, but
relief flooded her at the sight.
Nick Brandon looked as handsome as always, but he also
looked angry, his dark brows drawn low in two slashes over
his face. Still, she knew he wouldnβt kill her. She knew it
in her bones. She dropped the pistol to her side, but the
men still didnβt relax their stances, and she knew they
wouldnβt until she was unarmed. She had to make her fingers
uncurl from the grip, but she did it, and the gun slid to
the sand where it hit with a soft plunk.
The team of special ops warriors lowered their weapons, but
Victoria only had eyes for Nick. The last time sheβd seen
him, sheβd also had a pistol aimed at him. He wasnβt likely
to forgive her for that, but right now she almost didnβt
care. She was safe, even if she wasnβt entirely certain she
would remain that way.
βWell, hey there, Preacher Boy,β she made herself say,
though her teeth wanted to chatter. βDidnβt know I was
quite so dangerous you had to bring the entire Delta Force
with you. But Iβm flattered, I have to say.β
