Enemies on Tap, the first book in the Sweet Salvation
Brewery series was thoroughly enjoyable, although I felt
a little Flynn-spark was missing. In HOLLYWOOD ON TAP, we
get a veritable bonfire: it's terrific multiplied by ten!
And worry not, Ms. Flynn provides all the background
needed to enjoy this remarkable book on its own.
The Sweet triplets -- Miranda, Olivia and Natalie --
inherited the Sweet Salvation Brewery. It seemed to be
thriving, but recently things have been going wrong and
suspicions fall on the new brewmaster; so the sisters beg
efficiency expert Natalie to come home from Missouri.
Natalie needs complete order to control the panic attacks
that have plagued her since childhood. She has lists and
flowcharts for everything; she even knows how many
seconds it takes her to get fully dressed. She shuns any
chaos, and relationships are just that: unmanageable
chaos.
Brewmaster Sean O'Dell, has many secrets; he's a former
Hollywood star who disappeared from the face of the earth
several years ago. He intends to keep his anonymity
secret until a ghost from the past surfaces. Sean avoids
Natalie like the plague: her controlling ways drive him
crazy. Even though he worked his way up the ladder, he's
as messy as they get, and yet he lusts after Natalie; he
just loves her prim and proper look and he daydreams
about undoing those tiny buttons on his boss' twin-set.
Only one thing flusters Natalie: Sean. And they will have
to work together to fix what's ailing the Sweet Salvation
Brewery.
Avery Flynn is unsurpassed when it comes to writing
characters, down to the last one: they are colourful,
appealing, quirky, yet completely believable. HOLLYWOOD
ON TAP has everything: a meticulously crafted suspense,
non-stop action, remarkable writing, stellar dialogue,
hilarious tidbits, and hot romance. I love Avery Flynn's
heroes, because they happen to be women; strong, modern,
feminine women, and Natalie is one of the best characters
I've ever met; she's a heroine for the ages.
Ms. Flynn possesses remarkable writing skills: she crafts
a solid story and then she lets her fabulous characters
run the show and it's unbelievably successful. HOLLYWOOD
ON TAP is cinematic, colourful, fun; it blew me away!
Avery Flynn redefines yet again the romantic suspense
genre! Fantastic!
For years, Sean O’Dell has hidden his past as a Hollywood heartthrob from everyone at the Sweet Salvation Brewery. However, the arrival of nosey efficiency expert Natalie Sweet threatens the status quo. It doesn’t help that with her glasses, buttoned-up sweaters and always pulled-back hair that she’s uncovered one secret already: His attraction for hot librarian types. Natalie has had enough of the strong-and-silent Sean submarining her efforts to change the brewery for the better.
