Lauren Reynolds, assistant D.A., with a state senator
father finds she has a really big problem, She is being
stalked by a mysterious character. She finds herself being
watched by someone else, hired by her father, and she has
been having a number of HOT SECRETS concerning this man...
the delicious type.
Royce Walker, former F.B.I. agent and now owner of a
private security firm with his brothers, has always had
the
hots for Assistant D.A. Lauren Reynolds but had never
played on those desires due to family connections. Now he
can't just stand by while she is in danger but the passion
they find they share could just be the death of them both.
HOT SECRETS is a very hot, romantic suspense story that
you
will not be able to put down until you get to the last
word. Author Lisa Renee Jones has a definite voice when
it
comes to this genre and she makes the temperature rise
higher and higher with each romantic encounter. I also
thought the plot was well planned because I can usually
figure out who the bad guy is but it took me awhile to
figure it out, but still enjoyed the ride to get there.
The
supporting characters are a fascinating blend that adds to
the storyline and you can see how they fit in as friends
and of course family. Fantastic book and one I will keep
in
my TBR shelf while I look for more from Ms. Jones.
The Walker Brothers...
Tall, dark, and deadly, these three brothers run Walker
security. Each brother is
unique in his methods and skills, but all share key
similarities. They are
passionate about those they love, relentless when fighting
for a cause they believe
in, and all believe that no case is too hard, no danger
too dark. Dedication is what
they deliver, results are their reward.
Book 1 HOT SECRETS:
Royce Walker, a former FBI Agent, who's opened a private
security firm with his
brothers, has always had the hots for the prim, proper
Assistant District Attorney,
but considered her hand's off because of a family
connection. However, when danger
threatens Lauren, he isn't willing to stand by and watch
her get hurt. Now the
passion for survival is only rivaled by the passion
burning between them. And that
passion, might just be the death of them both.
Excerpt
He scooted her off his lap and settled down on the floor
in front of her, his hands sliding
up Lauren's calves, to her knees that she'd primly pressed
together. The heady scent of her
perfume, her home, her very feminine presence, seeped into
his senses.
She stared down at him, a soft 'doe in headlights' look on
her face. "Royce?" His name was a
soft plea on her lips, filled with uncertainty. He'd
confused her, sent her mixed messages,
in his effort to do what was right.
He felt like a wolf, a hungry wolf who wanted to devour
this woman, and there was no way that
didn't show in his eyes, no way the energy, the need he
felt for her, didn't radiate off of
him.
"You're beautiful," he said, softly, calmly, when the rage
of hormones inside him was
anything but. He kissed her knees, one and then the other,
reaffirming his decision to let
her pleasure be his tonight. "And I'm going to show you
how much I mean that."
She swallowed hard, her delicate, kissable throat bobbing
with the action. "I'm not sure I
know what that means."
He brushed her dress up her thighs. "You will," he
promised and kissed her delicate little
knee again.
She laughed - a nervously feminine sound. "I'm not sure I
know what that means either."
"You don't need to know what it means," he said, his
fingers tracing the lace of her thigh
high pantyhose, the sexy lingerie choice confirming what
he'd always suspected. Lauren might
be prim and proper on the outside, but there was a sensual
woman beneath the exterior who
wanted to come out and play - and he wanted to be the man
who she played with. He wanted to
be that man tonight, but no matter how tempting that might
be, tonight wasn't the night. But
he'd be damned if he'd allow her to doubt his desire for
her, his absolute, complete
attraction to her. "You just need to know how it feels."
His hands slipped inside her thighs,
easing her legs apart, his lips trailing a path up one of
them.
