Sarah has a chance to start over, with her memory wiped
clean. The Center treats patients with PTSD (Post-
Traumatic
Stress Disorder) with an innovative approach involving
brain
injections and surgery. Sarah has endured numerous memory
modifications as the doctors keep even her face and her
real
name a secret from her. However, Sarah now has a chance to
learn who she really is and what memories have been wiped
clean. It's a race against time as the Center is under
attack by a group of soldiers and Sarah's very life is at
stake.
Kristen Lippert-Martin takes readers on a fast paced
thrill
ride with TABULA RASA! Sarah's own past is a mystery to
her
and we get to see the answers unfold right along with her.
I
love the friendship that she develops with Pierce as they
learn to trust one another. The villains are perhaps a bit
stereotypical but that sure didn't stop me from rapidly
turning the pages of TABULA RASA well past my bedtime!
TABULA RASA is a fast paced twist on the dystopian theme
that is sure to thrill readers. I am a bit shocked and
even
a little saddened that TABULA RASA is Kristen
Lippert-Martin's first book as this means I can't
immediately dive into another one of her books right away.
I
can't wait to see what future adventures Kristen
Lippert-Martin has in store for us as TABULA RASA is a
phenomenal debut book!
The Bourne Identity meets Divergent in this action-packed debut thriller with a Katniss-esque heroine fighting to regain her memories and stay alive, set against a dystopian hospital background. Sarah starts a crazy battle for her life within the walls of her hospital-turned-prison when a procedure to eliminate her memory goes awry and she starts to remember snatches of her past. Was she an urban terrorist or vigilante? Has the procedure been her salvation or her destruction? The answers lie trapped within her mind. To access them, she'll need the help of the teen computer hacker who's trying to bring the hospital down for his own reasons, and a pill that's blocked by an army of mercenary soldiers poised to eliminate her for good. If only she knew why . . . "This is a snap-the-whip story, dark and fast. The sparks of humor in the voice won me over. Bottom line: I think the cocktail of suspense and believable smart-assery adds up to an addictive dose of reader appeal." --Blythe Woolston, author of the William C. Morris Award winner The Freak Observer
