Karen Spraiker, aka Sterling Dragon, has had enough super villain battles and a busted romance. She needs a get away and what better way to do that then join a murder mystery weekend at a posh estate. She meets a stranger that send tingles up her spine and then another whom she dubs her NIGHT ANGEL. She doesn't know that the murder mystery that weekend would have little to do with the real mystery she must face.
Randall Dupre has left his clan to come to the aid of the northeast werewolf pack in finding their kidnapped children. He already knows that his destined mate would come to him there and when he sees her he knows. Unfortunately there is so much he must do before he can lay claim to the beauty ... first of all survive the treatment he must endure for the children. Second ... see how his mate will feel when she sees what he becomes when the sun goes down.
When I picked up NIGHT ANGEL I wasn't sure I was going to read it, not sure what genre I was in the mood for but, some time later I found myself still immersed in this book. Karen is just like any girl next door (well the girl next door with "super powers") that is getting over a break up. While Randall came off at first as a snappy jerk, once you realized what he was enduring you will want to dive in and stop it. The two main antagonists in this book were the perfect blend of someone you would never guess was evil and a suave debonair man. There are also a couple of other bad guys who came off as nasty bad. If I had one complaint it would be for author Annette Miller to give a little more explanation on her "superhero" role and what it really means. Are they some kind of entertainment or real hero's fighting evil? This is the first book of Ms. Miller's Angel Haven series, and I am hoping she will come up with a bunch more.
