I'LL BE SLAYING YOU is Book two in Cynthia Eden's Night Watch series. This is a story of the good guys trying to take down a super vampire and his lust for power. Sandra "Dee" Daniels is one of the good guys. She is a take- no-prisoners, independent, strong, bounty hunter of paranormal creatures. Her one weakness is that with vampires -- it's personal. Vampires destroyed her family. This makes things particularly interesting since Simon Chase, this book;s hero, is a vampire. Sparks fly.

I can't say enough how much I love these characters and Simon in particular. I would put him near the top of my list of favorite heroes. When he appears at the beginning of I'LL BE SLAYING YOU Simon is a sexy man of mystery. However, by the end of the story, he earns his hero stripes. Time after time, he sticks his neck out for Dee and proves how deeply he cares for her. Even when it takes winning a battle of wills with the enemy in order to protect her, he does. For me, Simon is the perfect blend of dark and sexy, and raw and genuine. In addition to everything else that is so fabulous about this story, he is a huge part of what makes I'LL BE SLAYING YOU a must-read for paranormal romance fans.

Dee also turned out to be a new favorite character for me. She is a multifaceted character who has a painful past. Rather than adopting a defeatist attitude because of the early trauma she suffered, she becomes a warrior instead. Rather than running and hiding from the monsters, she goes after them. I love the chemistry between Dee and Simon. They have some things in common, but there are enough differences to create a delicious friction. The fact that I love them both only makes the romance more enjoyable for me. The sexy scenes are intense and extremely hot. Even though there is a lot of action, I don't think it in any way overbalances the romance. That being said, the action in I'LL BE SLAYING YOU kept me on the edge of my seat and captivated me right until the very end.

I'LL BE SLAYING YOU is an extremely sexy romance between two complex, and wonderful characters. I really like the supporting characters in this story and can't wait to see how many of them get a story of their own. I loved reading I'LL BE SLAYING YOU, and can't wait to read the next book in this series!
