Robotics engineer Jenny Nguyen has given up on finding Mr.
Right and settles on helping her brother and his husband
have a baby. Just when she has given up THE HEART'S GAME is
about to change. How could she ever imagine after
initiating the process of surrogacy she would meet the
perfect man at a Comic-Con.
Dr. Daniel Kelly might be a surgeon but he is also a gamer-
geek and suddenly he has found the perfect woman. Any woman
dressed as Sailor Scout is just what he is looking for. He
can't know that this is the worst timing ever for her.
After a wild night of sex, she disappears, leaving Dan to
wonder if he was the only one to feel anything. He has no
way of knowing that his gamer side is about to bring her
back to him. And she is carrying a surprise. Thinking the
child is his Dan goes about trying to win her heart. Even
when he learns the truth ... her heart is what he wants.
THE HEART'S GAME will tug at your heart and have you
smiling and at times laughing throughout the book. Author
Crista McHugh continues her Kelly Brothers series
with this
sweet, touching romance. Dan and Jenny are perfect for each
other and of course the timing couldn't have been worse but
that is life and Ms. McHugh makes it all work out. The
chemistry between them, and the other family members that
come into play, is amazing. I am a sucker for a close knit
family and the Kelly's are just that; a quick call and you
have the help you need. I did enjoy getting a little touch
of the Vietnamese culture but I admit I was a little afraid
of her mother ... that is one scary woman. Not a hardcore
gamer myself I was still able to understand most of what
was being said and done during this book, though I did look
up some of the characters at the Comic-Con. I got a big
kick out of the text message Jenny sent Dan at the end ...
the perfect touch for two geeks.
I think a romance reader
will find THE HEART'S GAME the perfect story to settle down
with for a quiet
evening. I can't wait to see what happens to the next
brother.
Robotics engineer Jenny Nguyen has given up on finding Mr.
Right. So when her brother and his husband approach her to
act as surrogate for their child, she sees it as her only
chance to have a child and accepts. One week after she
initiates the process, however, she meets a man who gets her
heart pumping for all the right reasons and gives into the
temptation. When the test turns positive, she’s believes she
can’t handle both the pregnancy and dating, but she
underestimates how persistent Daniel Kelly can be.
When surgeon and gamer-geek Dan meets a pretty woman dressed
as a Sailor Scout at Comic-Con, a roll of his lucky
twenty-sided die tells him he should take a gamble on her.
One night of passion leaves him longing for more, but
Jenny’s refusal to return his calls afterward leaves him
wondering if the attraction was one-sided. An accidental
discovery of her pregnancy has him convinced the baby is
his, and he’ll stop at nothing to win her heart.
