THE WITCH OF CLAN SINCLAIR is not the usual opposites
attract historical romance.
It's so much better! Author Karen Ranney touches on social
inequalities, the Scottish woman's right to vote and
political reform in this sizzling tale of romance and
intrigue.
Mairi Sinclair and her cousin Fenella are denied entrance
into the Edinburgh Press Club to listen to a popular author
lecture because they are woman. Logan Harrison, the Lord
Provost, backs up the Club's decision. Sparks fly as Mairi
and Logan exchange heated words outside the lecture hall.
THE WITCH OF CLAN SINCLAIR brings to light the
discrimination that women
endured during the late 1800's . Although Mairi is the
editor and publisher of the Edinburgh Gazette her brother
was listed as the owner. Scottish women did not have the
right to vote either. Mairi is a strong willed, single
minded ,independent woman who is solely focused on her
newspaper and its readers. She pays so much attention to
the newspaper that she overlooks what is going on in her
home and workplace. Mairi is incensed about being denied
entrance to the lecture. In anger, she schemes to even the
score between them. Her plan backfires and the newspaper's
revenues takes a hit.
Mairi acknowledges her mistake , visits Logan and
apologizes. I admired Mairi for recognizing her mistake,
owning it and apologizing. The exchange between Logan and
Mairi before they sit down to dinner is hilarious! Logan
baits Mairi throughout their meal and their banter during
the meal is extremely well written.
Logan Harrison is my favorite type of hero. He's charming,
well-liked, and honorable. But, is he the man for Mairi?
The chemistry between our hero and heroine is undeniable.
This couple SIZZLES!!! But, is that enough to make a
relationship work?
Read THE WITCH OF CLAN SINCLAIR to see if Logan and Mairi
find their happily ever after. Karen Ranney has a few
surprises and unexpected twists and turns as their story
unfolds!
I enjoyed THE WITCH OF CLAN SINCLAIR so much that after I
finished it, I
bought the first book in the series: The Devil of Clan
Sinclair and read it straight through. Looking forward to
the third book The Virgin of Clan Sinclair as well!
This series is on my keeper shelf.
Logan Harrison is looking for a wife. As the Lord Provost of
Edinburgh, he needs a conventional and diplomatic woman who
will stand by his side and help further his political
ambitions. He most certainly does not need Mairi Sinclair,
the fiery, passionate, fiercely beautiful woman who tries to
thwart him at every turn. But if she's so wrong for him, why
can't he stop kissing her? He is completely bewitched.
Mairi Sinclair has never met anyone like Logan Harrison, the
perfect example of everything she finds wrong with the
world. He's also incredibly handsome, immensely popular, and
impossible to resist. His kisses inflame her and awaken a
passion she can barely control.
Can two people who are at such odds admit to a love that
would bind them together for life?
