Dr. Sean O'Neil is focused solely on his work as an orthopedic surgeon. He has no time for relationships and keeps his family time to a minimum as he doesn't want to get trapped at Snow Crystal Resort like his father. However, when his grandfather, Walter, collapses, Sean rushes back home.
Meanwhile, Chef Γlise Philippe is having a crisis of her own. Not only is she distraught over Walter's medical issues, but she's also going to disappoint Jackson, Sean's twin brother, when the new restaurant won't open on time. Sean may just be the savior she's looking for, but will Γlise accept his help? Sean and Γlise had a single night together last summer... will the flames reignite this summer?
SUDDENLY LAST SUMMER is the second book in Sarah Morgan's O'Neil Brothers series but can easily be read as a standalone. However, I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't want to enjoy every visit they can get with the members of the large, loud, and loving O'Neil clan. I love each and every one of the characters, as even the secondary characters are crucial to the overall atmosphere of family love that permeates the storyline.
Γlise is hot tempered, quick to jump to conclusions, but oh- so-very loyal and loving to those she gives her heart to. Sean, on the other hand, appears much colder initially-the quintessential emotionally distant clinical surgeon. Watching the passion and love flare between Γlise and Sean is nothing short of heartwarming. I will even admit to shedding a tear or two near the conclusion.
Sarah Morgan is a master at writing emotionally charged romances that capture the heart and soul of what it means to love. SUDDENLY LAST SUMMER shows us two very emotionally damaged individuals discovering that the magic of love can exist for them despite their flaws. And oh boy, do I ever look forward to seeing Tyler's story next! I can't recommend SUDDENLY LAST SUMMER or this series highly enough!
