Dr. Sean O'Neil is a highly praised and successful orthopedic surgeon in Boston. Specializing in sports surgery. Dedicated and always putting his profession first, his family is displeased that he doesn't often visit his home in Vermont . His twin brother Jackson runs the family resort, Snow Crystal, along with their grandfather, mother, grandmother and other brother, Tyler. The disastrous death of their father caused Jackson to leave a thriving business in Europe and return to Vermont to save Snow Crystal. The lodge also includes an upscale restaurant and a cafe being constructed at the boathouse.
Elise Philippe was brought over from Paris by Jackson and installed as head chef when he rescued her from a dangerous situation. Now the O'Neil's are her family in every way and she dearly loves them. The grandfather, Walter, has a heart attack that brings Sean running from Boston. Feelings are troubled between he and his grandfather that started at his father's funeral, keeping Sean from coming home. Sean and Elise find themselves picking up where they left off a year ago; steaming, urgent sex in the forest through pouring rain and anywhere else they can find. Neither wants a relationship but after savings a boy's life and building the boathouse cafe where they are pushed together, things get really hot and sweaty. One finally realizes it's love and the other is terrified by the thought, but this puts a damper on the entire family.
SUDDENLY LAST SUMMER is another creation from Sarah Morgan in the O'Neil Brothers series. I found this wickedly entertaining with hot chemistry and true romance. The characters are all caught up in exceptionally emotional bouts of both sorrow and joy as a loving family. SUDDENLY LAST SUMMER is the first I have read by Sarah Morgan but will absolutely not be the last. I had to fight myself to put the book down.
Sarah Morgan is a truly remarkable story teller that leaves the reader thinking about it long after the book is finished.
