Bronwyn Parrish's husband has passed away and all her money has disappeared, due to the unscrupulous business manager her husband had hired. Bronwyn has been told to leave her own home, because her deceased husband's family wants her out now. As she's leaving the home, in walks Marco Black, quite a handsome man, but Bronwyn is confused as to who he is and why he wants her attention. Apparently, Marco has the knowledge of many secrets that have been hidden from Bronwyn, and he's here to help her. At first, she is reluctant for Marco to help her, but she has nowhere to go and the offer he makes her cannot be refused.

Marco Black is a top-notch senior agent for Nemesis. When he's given a task, he makes it personal and will track down the bad guys to make it right again. Marco is a bit turned off on helping Bronwyn, because he's not used to helping women of the Ton; he usually helps the poor and destitute. He soon finds out that Bronwyn is much stronger then those swooning women of high society.

Both Bronwyn and Marco go on a journey to track down her husband's slime-bucket business manager who has most likely gambled all her money away. Marco feels very strongly about helping Bronwyn now. She is not only brazen but a beauty. Should Marco have to put his life on the line for her lost fortune, he most certainly will do so. As they venture into France's most ruthless crime syndicate, Marco and Bronwyn find themselves facing danger that may cost them both their lives. Passion most certainly adds an extra push!
