Cade Hannigan was on top of the world a year ago with
popularity and wealth.
His power and money gained him many friends. Now, because
of his late
father's gambling, everything is lost, including all those
"good" friends. Only
Ed Ramsey, owner of the Lone Star Bar, gives him a break
allowing him to stay
in the room above the saloon in exchange for cleaning up in
the mornings.
Excessive drinking has finally caused Ed to kick him out.
He's drinking
himself away as he's kicked to the curb and in the gutter
with no place to go.
Georgie Zielinski arrives in Saddle Wells and purchases the
old abandoned
B&B with intentions of bringing the B&B back to life.
Georgie left her job at
Carlton Enterprises in Dallas after deciding sleeping her
way up the chain
wasn't for her. Already warned about the "bad boy" Hannigan
by his previous
girlfriend, Amy, she nearly refuses Cade's offer of doing
handyman work
around the B&B to restore it, and allowing him to stay in
the old bunk house.
Working his butt off and keeping to himself gains him the
confidence to
change and is now liquor free. Amy hurts her foot and Cade
is the hero in
helping her manage things. Quickly, they both realize the
physical draw and
form a sexual alliance. Keeping his presence a secret from
Amy and her other
new friends, the time is drawing nearer to reveal that Cade
has been given a
new chance at life and working for Georgie. When the girls
arrive at the
restaurant where Cade and Georgie have finally made their
debut, all hell
breaks out and Amy causes a horrendous scene. Leaving
Georgie is hard for
him but will do it to enable her business to survive. She
doesn't need his
baggage around to thwart that. When Amy is chastised by the
girls for her
behavior, she is finally able to put her anger aside, but
does she have the
power to repair the damage she has done to both Cade and
Georgie?
I completely enjoyed this short story of two people
trying to overcome their
disasters and rebuild a new life. BARE NAKED is Book four in
the Naked Cowboys series.
A bad boy striving to rebuild his life and a good girl who's
been dealt a bad
hand work together to build something good together. This
is not the first I
have read from Desiree Holt and certainly not the last. She
manages to form an
interesting tale full of emotions and lots of hot sex in the
middle!
She’s burned out and he’s down and out, but together they
might light up the night.
Georgie Zielinski’s success in the hospitality industry
comes to an abrupt end when her new boss says she needs to
put out or get out. So Georgie gets out, investing her
savings and 401k in a dilapidated B&B in Saddle Wells,
Texas. Hiring help isn’t high on her to-do list, but when a
rough-around-the-edges cowboy offers his handyman services,
she listens to her gut and takes him on.
Cade Hannigan would eat humble pie all day if he could
afford it. The silver spoon he was born with is tarnished
and he’s down to the clothes on his back, a beat-up truck
and a reputation so bad no one in three counties will hire
him. Except a newcomer like Georgie.
As they work to bring the old B&B back to life, Georgie and
Cade’s connection explodes into a wild ride of passion. But
when Cade’s past comes back to slap him in the face, their
chance to be together starts to disappear like smoke.
Warning: Contains a bad boy hammering out a new future, a
good girl not afraid to get a little dirty—okay a lot
dirty—and and a whole new definition for “sweat equity”.
