This
book throws you into a number of emotional ups and downs
then has you laughing at some of the situations Marcus
finds himself and fearful for the world we have come to
love. Marcus and his love for Sexta is the center of this
book. She is the daughter of a Madame, who has been forced
into that life. Marcus wants to free her but she will not
chance the unhappiness that might come from being shunned
and whispered about even in the palace itself. Two broken
hearts that come together in the end despite everything
against them is only part of this story. The reader will
see the continuing love story between Titus and his Azurha
and get the first glimpse of the result of their love for
one another. The ending of this book will touch your heart,
while making you want to kick Marcus, which I found I
wanted to do a couple of times through the story. I hope
Ms. McHugh keeps this world alive for us to enjoy for a
long time to come.
