Abbey Sinclair works for "Fated Match" a dating agency for
paranormals. She's a human in the group but, with her
mother having been bitten and turned into a were-badger she
is really well versed on the other world. Things are going
well until she is sent to sign up the socialite Melissa
Redgrave ... she has a feeling that there is more than LOVE
AT STAKE.
Melissa's sire Lucian Redgrave is very much against the
whole deal, doesn't believe that a true mate can be found
via computer and DNA match. It's when he meets Abbey that
he decides she is what he wants, so to keep seeing her he
agrees that if she and the agency can find him a match in a
month, he will allow Melissa to join.
Abbey is half sure that he has no plans to cooperate and
indeed his first date ends in less than an hour, and he is
once again by Abbey's side. She is the one he plans to have
... though he doesn't see the possibility of forever; after
all she is only human.
LOVE AT STAKE is fast paced paranormal romance filled with
humor, deep emotion and scorching sex. It was very
entertaining to watch both Abbey and Lucian in this tug of
war as slowly their hearts get pulled in. She doesn't want
to be a vampire's plaything quickly forgotten and he
doesn't believe he has a heart left to give. What started
out as a game for the ancient vampire ends up with him
miserable and that long forgotten heart on the line. Author
Victoria Davies gives us an intriguing world filled with
various beings while taking us deeper into the emotional
upheaval that Abbey and Lucian find themselves in. I am
hoping that Ms. Davies has plans for the wolf who was
trying to gain Abbey's interest. I knew he wasn't for her
but I did feel sorry for him and want him to find his
perfect match. In fact I want more books like this one no
matter what characters she brings us.
Abbey is the lone human working for Fated Match, a company
that pairs members of the supernatural community with their
eternal mates.
To snag a young vampire socialite as their next client,
Abbey journeys to the home of Lucian Redgrave, the oldest
vampire on the East Coast.
But he�s not willing to allow his
vampire daughter to use the agency� unless Abbey can first
find his perfect match in a month.
As Abbey coaches Lucian through his dates, she can�t deny
the chemistry between them. But humans are toys for
