Abbey Sinclair works for "Fated Match" a dating agency for paranormals. Abbey is half sure that he has no plans to cooperate and indeed his first date ends in less than an hour, and he is once again by Abbey's side. She is the one he plans to have ... though he doesn't see the possibility of forever; after all she is only human.

LOVE AT STAKE is fast paced paranormal romance filled with humor, deep emotion and scorching sex. It was very entertaining to watch both Abbey and Lucian in this tug of war as slowly their hearts get pulled in. She doesn't want to be a vampire's plaything quickly forgotten and he doesn't believe he has a heart left to give. What started out as a game for the ancient vampire ends up with him miserable and that long forgotten heart on the line. Author Victoria Davies gives us an intriguing world filled with various beings while taking us deeper into the emotional upheaval that Abbey and Lucian find themselves in. I am hoping that Ms. Davies has plans for the wolf who was trying to gain Abbey's interest. I knew he wasn't for her but I did feel sorry for him and want him to find his perfect match. In fact I want more books like this one no matter what characters she brings us.
