Confessions Of A Royal Bridegroom

Romance Historical

Griffin Steele has worked hard building his scandalous reputation and burying his past. He has become a notorious scoundrel, so it's quite a surprise when a baby is left on his doorstep. Just as surprising is the spinster nursemaid sent to take care of the infant.

Justine Brightmore is a spy's daughter, and she's determined to protect the baby when his suspected parentage makes him a target for danger. She thought this would be the hardest part of her job, but when she must marry Griffin Steele to protect her reputation, she finds protecting her heart is much more difficult than protecting her infant charge.

Vanessa Kelly has written a charming and sensual sequel to her Renegade Royals series. Readers will enjoy learning more about the mysterious Griffin Steele, who is a witty and fun secondary character in Kelly's first book. Griffin is proof that people are more than what they may seem to be at first glance. The many layers that make Griffin are intriguing, and readers won't be able to put CONFESSIONS OF A ROYAL BRIDEGROOM down until they have discovered all of Griffin's past secrets. Justine is the perfect match for Griffin. She is an independent woman who isn't used to being taken care of, and won't let any man bully her. Still, she enjoys Griffin's attentions and will loyally stand by his side through thick and thin. The members of Griffin's household are excellent secondary characters and through them another layer of Griffin's past is exposed.

The dark secrets surrounding the baby are compelling and keep the book moving at an enjoyable pace. Events leading up to the climax are unexpected even if the climax is a bit predictable.

CONFESSIONS OF A ROYAL BRIDEGROOM by Vanessa Kelly has just enough sensual tension between Justine and Griffin without overwhelming the story. Kelly has written a wonderful and mystery-filled story with all the elements romance fans enjoy.

SUMMARY

They are the Renegade Royals, illegitimate sons of the Royal Princes, each finding his rightful place in society--and the woman destined to be his perfect match. . .

Some men are born into scandal. Others pursue it with a passion. Griffin Steele, secret son of the Duke of Cumberland, is guilty on both counts. Yet somehow London's most notorious scoundrel has been saddled with an abandoned baby boy--and with the unflappable, intriguing spinster summoned to nurse him. . .

Justine Brightmore may be a viscount's niece, but she's also a spy's daughter, determined to safeguard the infant when his suspected royal parentage makes him a target. Yet how to protect herself from the rakish Griffin? Marriage might shield her reputation, but it can only imperil her heart, especially with a groom intent on delicious seduction. . .
