It's only 7 days until Big Creek Days, a
celebration of food which includes a much awaited rodeo.
Paisley Archer organizes things from the bull riding events
to the concessions stands, assuring a successful
celebration. Paisley Weston's estranged husband, Matt, has
gained fame as a professional bull rider and follows
the high circuit. Paisley has had enough after his
desertion of two years and is completely caught off guard
when he shows up on her doorstep without notice. Paisley
still lives in their house with the hound dog, Tilla
(nicknamed Sweet Tea ).
Watching over Matt's father, Joe, they both have had
their hearts broken because Matt chose as his first love
rodeo and bull riding and his family as second. The death
of a rider changed Paisley's mind at continuing to follow
Matt in pro bull riding. Joe is devastated at his son's
desertion but hides his sorrow in drink. The three of them
were originally planning to operate their own rodeo stock
contracting operation in Texas. Still in love with
him, Paisley is convinced that to survive she needs to
acquire a divorce and move on with her original plan with
Joe. Trying to convince his wife to go on the road with
him to finish his championship and contract, she shows him
the door and demands his signature on the divorce papers.
Matt leaves for his tour but he still has some surprise
angles yet to try in winning back his wife and acceptance
from his father.
This is a short story filled with the trials and
tribulations of a man of choosing his professional career
and love of the rodeo over the love for his wife and
father. Heartfelt dreams and wants are weighed by this
couple, and sacrifices must be made. The author composes a
tale of the life and hardships of a championship rodeo
cowboy and the things he must give up for his success.
YOU, ME, AND SWEET TEA is a very fast read and one that you
