Magnus Redstone, the middle of the five construction company Redstone brothers and a shifter. He's the quiet one but even more so lately. Two years ago he met and lost a woman, a very special woman ... his mate.
Miranda had met Magnus two years ago and realized he was more than just a fantastic night, he is her One. Something every vampire would give anything to find. Vampire and shifter mating has always been frowned upon if not completely forbidden. She had run, knowing there is no way they would be allowed to be together.
Then while searching for the killers of the matriarch of the Redstone family, they came upon a nearly crazed, caged Miranda. She had been held captive for months, tortured, drained of her magic and blood. It was only Mag's voice that pulls her back from madness. It is only his care and love that will keep her alive and growing strong. Strong enough to realize that the Goddess would not have given her Mag as her One if it was not meant to be.
When a vampire uprising threatens the whole of Vegas, they are thrown right in the middle of it. It is also possible that their mating is really important to all the Were and other supernatural beings in the war against the Venifucus.
TALES OF THE WERE:MAGNUS is fantastic; filled with emotional tugs of the heart and a lot of kick butt action. I didn't want to put it down and when I had to, I raced through what I needed to do to get back to it. I loved Magnus, he is gentle yet strong. He kept the pain of finding then losing his mate from his family but simply planned to find her again, and do whatever had to be done to keep her. Miranda seemed so helpless at first, but who wouldn't be after the mage caged her in silver. I also found the story of her turning tugging at my heart, especially as she secretly kept an eye on her human family. So I approved of her for Mag. I always enjoy it when an author brings back other members of the series and seeing this family accepting the decisions of their brother was great. It was interesting as they liaison with Antoine de Latourette, master of Las Vegas, who is facing up to problems of his own. What could be scarier than vampires aligning themselves with the evil Venifucus? I can't think of anything. Good thing the good guys are ready to fight. I love author Bianca D'Arc's Tales of the Were series and the Redstone brothers are the hottest of all. I cannot wait to see what she comes up with for the other brothers.
