Retired Viking pirate, Thork Tykirson hopes to repair the
estrangement with his father for his previously wild days.
While drinking with his men at the tavern, curiosity peaks
their interest at the small men present. If they had only
known they were pirate women and their drinks would be
drugged, they wouldn't have been so amused. They are taken
captive by the female crew, but the leader of these female
pirates, also known as the Sea Scourge, is not aware that
her crew has done this until far out at sea.
Medana Elsadottir, a.k.a Geira, now has a clan of over
193 women and 19 children. Becoming a pirate was not part
of her plan, but she was forced to enter into a betrothal to
a vile mean man. Medana killed the older man after a violent
rape and flee for her life at 16 years old. It has taken
Medana 10 years to build her small community on the island
of Thurdr, which appears uninhabited and impossible to land
on. She harbors women misused by men, wishing to escape.
The women have only one purpose for the men: they want
children.
Furious at being drugged and held captive by women, no less,
Thork intends to turn the tables. When he gets the upper
hand, his torture for the beautiful Medana is extracting
sexual favors. Sex with Thork is much different than she
anticipates and takes her breath away. Much banter and
quibbling ensues between the feisty female and the gorgeous
Viking with the striking eyes. The lovely woman brings
Thork to his knees when he realizes he is not willing to
live without her. But can Thork find a way to clear her of
the murder charges and corral the feisty, stubborn woman?
As expected, Sandra Hill has again delivered another
installment of the Viking Series, and THE PIRATE BRIDE is
equally exciting, sexy and entertaining. I am never
disappointed with any book I read from this author. The
characters, as well as the plot, are unique and interesting.
Humor and romance keeps this a very fun read. THE PIRATE
BRIDE is definitely an original which will capture you from
the first and hold your interest to the last.
Thork was desperately trying to be good. After a decade of
piracy and plundering as a Viking it was time to return home
to his Father's land of Dragonstead. Being the son of a
well–respected Norse Jarl had made Thork want to rebel
and enjoy the freedom of a Viking. Now it was time to win
back his Father's respect, head home and marry a nice woman.
That was the plan at least, until he met Medana...
Medana hated men. She hated being under their constant and
unfair control. As a young girl in a prosperous home she was
forced to do their bidding unti such time as she could sneak
away and found a small women–only village on a hidden
island, her own Amazonian society. Thrudr became a place
where women could escape from abusive men to become strong
and independent.
When the women of Thrudr sailed to Hedeby, Medana thought it
was to be a simple piracy mission. Her crew however, had
other plans. Whilst sailing back home Medana discovered
Thork and his men tied up below deck, to be
studded–out so her women could bear children. Now
Medana must find a way to keep her village safe from men.
Thork has never been so angered by a woman in his life, and
it seems he annoys her to no end. Imprisoned in Thrudr he
rallies his men to plot their escape. But will he be able to
escape before he succumbs to Medana and her violet eyes?
