Kelly Armstrong has been focusing on finishing up her Otherworld series and starting her Cainsville series so It has been four years since she wrote a Nadia Stafford story, but it was worth the wait.

Nadia is the assassin we all want to be. Smart, beautiful and independent Nadia, as the contract killer "Dee", kills with a sense of justice. The story starts with Nadia about to complete a contract on an abusive husband when the wife and child show up at the scene. Nadia won't let the daughter witness her father's death so she doesn't take the shot.

The fallout from not taking that shot pushes Nadia to the edge. Her mentor Jack finds her in a daze having walked twenty miles and not even realizing it. Jack takes Nadia on a ride in an attempt to bring her back from the edge. Jack gives her a gift, the man Nadia has been looking for, for twenty years; the man she believes brutally raped and killed her sister. As Nadia and Jack stalk the man and plan his murder he is killed by someone else. Shocked but relieved at his death Nadia and Jack quickly return to Nadia's other life as a lodge owner to avoid her being a suspect.

Nadia quickly finds herself in a killer's cross hairs, a killer who doesn't realize his mark is not just a simple lodge owner. Nadia, Jack, and fellow assassins Quinn and Evelyn join together to stop the assassins' that keep coming for Nadia.
