Welcome back to Diana Palmer's on going romance with the
folks in her Wyoming series. Wyoming Bold was a little like
returning home to characters that have already become good
friends thanks to the writing talents of Palmer. As always
Palmer treats her readers to a fast paced story filled with
mystery and passion. Quite a mix.
Merissa Baker and her mother were special. They had special
talents or perhaps gifts depending on how you felt about
them. For Merissa these gifts had placed her on the outside
of society and basically cut her off from people her own
age who had proven to be quite cruel. But that never
prevented either Merissa or Clara from doing what they felt
was the right thing -- warning others of impending issues or
difficulties especially those regarding life or death.
Those dreams are what had Merissa at the door on Dalton
Kirks ranch in the middle of a huge blizzard. With no
regard for her own wellbeing she had to warn Dalton that he
was in danger. At first Dalton's reaction to what Merissa
tells him is less than gracious. How on earth does she know
these things that he has never told anyone other than the
proper authorities? But even though he questions her --
Merissa continues on to tell specific details, some he had
totally forgotten. Dalton had narrowly escaped death and
most of his memories of the event were like nightmares that
wouldn't go away and yet seemed rather disjointed.
Merissa's insight or vision was very clear to her and as
Dalton was to learn very accurate and should not be
disregarded or ignored. Her attention to details was spot
on but what really sparked Dalton's attention was the facts
that had previously been unknown. What she was revealing
was a rather elaborate plot and unnerving. The information
that suggested there were addition victims. And that the
threat was not only very real but ongoing.
What had seemed real to Dalton, he was now questioning and
so what had been considered closed was now to be an ongoing
investigation once again making Dalton vulnerable and a
target. Dalton wasn't taking any chances and contacted
professionals to investigate these visions while at the
same time taking the requisite steps to protect himself and
those around him.
The range of these threats had breached their original
target of Dalton and now Merissa was also put in danger.
The most important weapon Dalton had was Merissa and her
visions. This had definitely turned Dalton into a believer
and his time with Merissa was developing into a
relationship that neither had ever contemplated.
Just the right recipe for a western with a decidedly
different slant. Tough rancher meets his match in a woman
who is brave enough to face just about any challenge. Put
them together and it's definitely a winner.
Chalk up another really great tale by Diana Palmer. WYOMING
BOLD is a terrific addition to her Wyoming series and gives
us the chance to meet up with some old friends. Palmer
treats us to some quick witty dialog and allows us to
follow the trail of clues which hopefully will lead us all
to the mysterious killer. One word of warning -- do not
assume any piece of information is insignificant. Diana
Palmer doesn't mince words so pay close attention.
