Stephano Jacob Colson Notte has had a hard time adjusting
to the fact that he's been made a vampire against his
wishes, even if it did save his life. Having run away from
his family to Ottawa more than three years ago, he's now
created a new life being a bodyguard as Jake Colson. When
Marguerite Argeneau approaches him with a request to
protect someone from her ex-husband, Jake finds himself
pretending to be a housekeeper for an artist while he's
really working as a bodyguard. When Jake discovers he can't
read his newest assignment, he'll do anything to stop the
person who's after her.
Convinced the accidents that have happened around her house
are just accidents, Nicole Phillips doesn't want a
bodyguard around. What she does agree to is a housekeeper,
but Jake Colson is no where near what she imagined a
housekeeper looks like. Now that he's here, she's having a
hard time keeping her mind on things like work. When the
accidents start to take on a deadly turn, Nicole's still
not convinced her ex-husband is behind things, but she does
know that they have to get to the bottom of who's trying to
harm her soon, before both she and Jake wind up dead.
Ten years ago, Lynsay Sands first introduced us to the
Argeneau clan. Now with a decade of books behind her, Sands
gives us book nineteen with ONE LUCKY VAMPIRE, showing
she's still going strong with this series. Jake was first
introduced to readers in Vincent Argeneau's book, A Bite to
Remember. I admit, he hasn't been a character I've wondered
much about since his introduction (I would love his
cousins, the twins, to each get a book though) but I did
love his story. With Jake, Sands gives us a vampire who's
really not happy about being one. I love how in trying to
explain himself to Nicole, Jake began to accept himself,
along with his family, as well. The mystery of the would be
assassin was a good one. I didn't figure out who it was
until just before it was revealed. Even though this series
is already nineteen books in, I, for one, hope Sands plans
on writing nineteen plus more. I'm no where done with these
light-hearted, banter-filled, humorous paranormals. Plus, I
really want Justin Bricker's book. Sands has a way of bring
a smile to your face while you read about the latest antics
of her characters. ONE LUCKY VAMPIRE is no exception, so
run out to the book store and buy yourself a copy.
No one does wickedly funny and irresistibly steamy like New
York Times bestselling author Lynsay Sands—especially in
this red-hot romance between a reluctant vampire and the
beauty who needs his help.
Luck be a vampire tonight . . .
When Nicole Phillips agreed to hire a housekeeper, she
pictured someone a little frumpy and almost certainly
female. Instead, she gets gorgeous, unmistakably male Jake
Colson. The man is proving indispensable in the kitchen—and
everywhere else. Except Jake might not be a mortal man at
all.
. . . and every night
Who wouldn't want to be a tall, dark, powerful vampire?
Jake, for one. He's barely had time to adjust to his
newstate before he's roped into a family favor. Still,
secretly playing bodyguard to sweet, sexy Nicole is turning
out to be the wildest ride of his life. First, he'll put a
stop to whoever's targeting her. Then he'll prove that this
kind of love, and luck, happens only once in an eternity.
