THE KEEPERS: CHRISTMAS IN SALEM finds the city enshrouded by unexplained darkness. The darkness has slowly blocked out the sun until it is seen for only an hour a day and everyone worries that it would disappear completely. The Keepers job is to keep the peace between humans and otherworldly beings, and the job never stops ... even during Christmas, because it is very possible that an "other" is involved in this plight.
Do You Fear What I Fear by Heather Graham: Samantha Mycroft is planning her family's traditional Christmas Eve party despite the darkness. Complicating matters more is the return of Daniel Riverton, a vampire and the love of her life, who had walked away without a backward look a few years back. Can they work together to find the secret of the darkness and save their world?
The Fright Before Christmas by Deborah LeBlanc: Rebekah Savay, the Keeper of the Five Elementals, has come to Salem to help her cousin, Sam. Vaughn Griffith, a former rival and crush, complicates things by joining in to solve the mystery. He'd disappeared from her life once and she doesn't have time for him now. One of the elemental's charges is missing and might be a part of the darkness. Working together may break her heart but it must be done.
Unholy Night by Kathleen Pickering: Selkie Keeper Katie Sue Montgomery arrives in Salem at her cousin's request. Amidst her worries for this strange happening is the worry over Jett, her selkie lover, who is only a man every seven years but who always holds her heart. Is it the darkness exaggerating her loneliness or is it that she really needs more than a few weeks with this man? Can destiny and a little Christmas magic fix things?
Stalking in a Winter Wonderland by Beth Ciotta: Juniper (June) Twist, Keeper of Witches is working with the other Keepers to fix the darkness. She had hoped that it truly wasn't one of hers that was behind the phenomenon but now it seems it just might be. She also must work with Basel Collins, the very one who had stolen her heart with the help of a "love" spell and gave her a distrust of witches. No matter ... it's time to grow up and do what she is destined to do... right? Even if her heart gets broken again she will do what she must, and fall apart later.
THE KEEPERS: CHRISTMAS IN SALEM is an amazing anthology written by four different authors dwelling on the same setting, each with their own main characters and their own viewpoint and writing style. There are a lot of traditional touches that add realism to all the stories that manage to add touches of light. I would suggest the reader start reading the first story to the last to get the complete affect. I thought this book a very nice idea and all four stories together make a fantastic paranormal Christmas book.
