Julie Wyatt's youngest son is dead due to her daughter-
in-law's greed. Larry became violently ill and his second
wife, Darlene, let him die by purposely not calling 911.
Because Darlene adopted Larry's child, Olivia, a product
from his first marriage, the child's inheritance can keep
her and her boyfriend reeling in money and a fancy life
while living in Ollie's home in Rosemont, Alabama. The
child is estranged from her grandmother and kept as a tool
only to profit Darlene and boyfriend Adam. Running out of
money, Julie has reached the end of options to fight for
custody of her beautiful little granddaughter. Years have
passed and Julie has resorted to begging for help from Myra
Rutledge and Annie de Silva from Virginia, sources to be
reckoned with, labeled "second string" and working as
vigilantes for those losing a child and desperately seeking
vengeance to right the wrongs dealt them.
Before hearing from the women, Julie has witnessed a
couple of miracles and become a very rich woman. Part of
her wealth derives from Mace Carlisle, a billionaire and
head of a huge conglomerate known as Carlisle
Pharmaceuticals. Devising a tricky divorce from his greedy
wife, he takes refuge, along with his rescued dog Lola from
ASPC, and his road trip lands him in Rosemont where he meets
Julie and rents a beautiful little cottage from her.
Returning home after his wife's eviction, his plan to turn
the company over to others and move to a quiet life in
Rosemont is met with disaster. Julie also has twin sons and
twin daughters, all grown up. Together with her daughters,
new found friends and their counterparts, revenge is sweet
for Julie in the most unexpected and imaginative way as she,
at the same time, manipulates for custody of Ollie.
Fern Michaels is one of my favorite authors. I have been
reading her work for years. She has
definitely done it again! This installment in the
Sisterhood Series is a mind boggling tale of creative
justice. GOTCHA is packed full of suspense and emotional
trauma. Her characters are wonderful and her stories always
contain the unexpected twists and turns throughout. She is
brilliant in her imagination and plots. Once picking her
book up, I have to fight myself to put it back down unless I
have literally turned the last page. I am an avid fan of
this fantastic author and her colorful creations.
Sometimes, justice is a long time coming. That's the case
with Julie Wyatt, whose story strikes close to home for the
original founder of the Sisterhood, Myra Rutledge, and her
best friend - and fellow Sister - Annie. Julie is convinced
her greedy daughter-in-law Darlene had something to do with
the mysterious circumstances surrounding her son Larry's
death. She desperately wants to get a confession out of
Darlene - and to ensure the safety of Larry's daughter,
Olivia. As Myra, Annie, and their cohorts dig deeper into
Darlene's shady dealings, events unfurl in a way that no
one could have predicted, bringing to light the true meaning
of loyalty and courage-and the kind of friendship that can
create miracles...
