GETTING ROWDY by Lori Foster is an exciting, fast paced read with sexy men. Avery Mullins, bartender and Rowdy Yates bar owner of Getting Rowdy Bar and Grill, have the kind of chemistry that leaps off the page. Rowdy has been trying to get into Avery's pants for a while, but she will not give into him. It's not that she is not attracted to him, it's because she does not want to be another one of his one night stands. She understands he does not do relationships and she does not do one night stands, especially since he is now her boss and she has feelings for him.

Rowdy has bought the run down, drug infested bar and is determined to make it work. This is the first time he as ever put down roots and plans to stay in one place for a while. Especially with the beautiful Avery Mullins nearby. After purchasing the bar, one of the first things he did was promote her to bartender and a confidant.

Avery is the one that named the bar "Getting Rowdy". Avery has been getting quite a few disturbing phone calls at work. Mostly heavy breathing, until the most recent one where she hears a gun shot and a male laughing. This one comes after Rowdy gives her a ride home and they are followed. When he drives up to her apartment he is appalled at where she lives and tells her that she needs to find a safer place to live.

Walking her to her apartment there are a group of men across the parking lot calling to her and making lewd comments. This does not sit well with Rowdy. One thing leads to another and he kicks their tails and they leave.

After the fight is over a group of three early 20ish young men appear. Rowdy is not sure about taking on three more if it comes to that. After a short conversation he realizes they are there to protect the neighborhood. The leader introduces himself as Cannon. Rowdy gives them cards for them to call him if there is any trouble around Avery and if there is anything he can do for them.

From here the action really picks up, and will have you turning the pages as fast as you can to see what comes next. In GETTING ROWDY we do get to see Pepper, Logan, Alice and Reese and it is nice to see how they all intermingle with each other, and become friends. Seeing a softer side of Rowdy with Avery is wonderful. We know how protective of Pepper (his sister) he is, but with Avery we also get to see another more intimate side of him. I liked how Ms. Foster was able to make him a little softer and kinder, but still keep who he truly is. If you are a fan of Ms. Foster's, or just a fan of romantic suspense and a good story GETTING ROWDY is one you need to read.
