In SURRENDER TO SULTRY Mary Beckett combines lost love with
an old friendship which has been renewed.
We meet Leah who is the daughter of the town's preacher.
She left her home town of Sultry Springs leaving the
townsfolk to wonder why. Leah has come back to help her
father with his health issues. We also meet Colton who was
the
town's bad boy who is now the town's sheriff.
Mary Beckett's story about this small town makes readers
feel just
like they live there. Readers learn how in a small town
like Sultry Springs everyone
knows everything about each of the residents.
What amazed me about this story is the way that Mary Beckett
combines, love friendship and trust. During SURRENDER TO
SULTY, I
hated some of the characters but later I loved
them. Almost to the point where I was wishing for the end
to work out the way we all hoped it would.
Mary Beckett talks about éclairs, which I love. The way
that Mary talks about them makes readers mouth's water for
one.
Who would think that you could write about éclairs in a way
that makes people laugh.
I would definitely recommend SURRENDER TO SULTY to anyone
who loves to
read romances with a dash of humor.
How do you stay
under the sheriff's radar in a town that prides itself on
knowing everyone's business? Leah's not sure it's possible,
but she's determined to avoid Colton Bea for as long as she
can. Seeing him again would be too heartbreaking-and she
knows from experience his bone-melting kisses are way too
tempting.
Colt still hasn't forgiven Leah for her
sudden disappearing act ten years ago. He may no longer be
the hellion he was in high school, but he's still willing to
play dirty to get what he wants. And he won't let Leah get
away again. Armed with chocolate éclairs, a killer smile,
and an adorable niece, he will make sure that this time the
love of his life has plenty of reasons to stay.
