Shy, slightly agoraphobic and insecure Petra Clark expresses
herself through her blog, Sexcapades. Via her alter ego PC,
Petra encourages woman to embrace their sexuality.
Unfortunately for Petra, her blogs and reviews are based
more on research than action. After her last disastrous
relationship, Petra is staying away from men, especially the
hot stranger she keeps running into at the coffee shop.
Darcy Williams is intrigued by the sexually explicit
conversations he's overhearing in the coffee shop. When he
gets caught eavesdropping, he can't help but tease the women
since his alter ego is D. Williams, blogger on sex from the
male perspective and PC's informal sparring partner. The
attraction between Petra and Darcy is instantaneous but
things get complicated when they discover each other's
secret identities. They are both up for the same blogging
award and have been actively baiting each other online for
months. Now that they have met, it doesn't take long for the
professional animosity to turn into hot and heavy sexual
attraction.
SEXCAPADES is a quick, sexy romance. I liked the premise and
enjoyed the banter that came with the rivalry between Darcy
and Petra. I found Darcy's name a little distracting as I
tend to think of it as women's name so my mental of image of
the story kept needing adjustment, though it is a unisex
name so others may not have the same problem. Petra had to
grow on me because I found her insecurities a bit tiresome
but it was good to see her personal growth. There was a
blackmail subplot that didn't add a lot to the story and
felt a little bit forced. The real strength of the story is
the sexual heat and budding relationship between Darcy and
Petra.
Petra Clark's blog Sexcapades inspires women to embrace
sexuality. What readers don't know is that her advice isn't
based on personal experience. Despite erotic fantasies about
the hot guy at her local coffee shop, social anxiety keeps
Petra from connecting with real men in the real world. She's
more comfortable as PC, sparring online with her nemesis,
the cocky D. Williams.
Counselor by day, blogger by night, Darcy Williams gets a
thrill countering PC's female-friendly advice with a macho
slant. And when both blogs are nominated for an award, he's
intrigued by the chance to finally meet the woman who's been
driving him wild with her Sexcapades.
When Petra runs into her coffee-shop crush at the awards
party, sparks fly—and so do their clothes. Only after
multiple orgasms does she realize who Darcy really is: the
competition. Now they're facing accusations of fraud, with
stalking and blackmail thrown in. But perhaps most
frightening of all are the feelings growing between them
