Since the beginning of the Lucy Kincaid series, Allison Brennan has hinted at the secrets that have been hanging over Sean Rogan; secrets that could potentially land him in jail for a long time. Sean has been quietly waiting out the clock on the statute of limitations so he could feel released from the burden of his past. Unfortunately for Sean, the FBI came calling before the clock ran out.
Sean sees a chance for redemption as he works undercover with FBI agent Noah Armstrong to infiltrate a cyber-terrorist group. In order to make his cover believable, Sean gives up everything including his job and his relationship with his family. He\'s trying to hold on to Lucy, hoping that she\'ll trust him through this even though he can tell her nothing about the operation. Lucy, on the verge of completing her FBI training, knows something is wrong but her trust in Sean never wavers even when the evidence mounting against him looks damning. She\'ll do everything she can to help but first she has to uncover the truth.
Fans of the Lucy Kincaid series have been anticipating Sean\'s story for some time. I approached this story with a bit of trepidation, wondering if I would be disappointed in the revelation. I am glad to report that Sean\'s story was all the excitement and suspense I have come to expect from Allison Brennan. The mistakes Sean made were big but they are consistent with who we know Sean to be, a man of great integrity with a strong sense of justice who\'s willing to bend the rules for what he knows to be right. The love and devotion between Sean and Lucy continues to deepen even as they face some huge challenges. I look forward to seeing where Lucy\'s transformation into an official FBI agent takes them next.
